Jay never liked talking much; it was something she had learned how to do all on her own but never did. She liked talking to her friends though and as she walked into English class, she sat right next to one of her closest friends, Dusk.

Though it still depressed Jay that Dusk, one of her only three friends, was moving, she was determined to remain as cheerful and upbeat as always.

Dusk- though she wasn't the type to smile much- was the most amazing poem writer Jay had ever met and always encouraged people to read or listen to her poems when ever the opportunity arrived.

Just as Jay sat down, Dusk handed her a journal filled with writing. Jay instinctively picked it up. The poem was unique and the words flowed onto the page with intriguing pattern. "Wow... That's really good!" Jay said as she read the descriptive words. She flipped through the other poems in the journal. "You know, I still can't quite decide which is my favorite." It was true. Jay loved all of Dusk's poems and often asked her to print some out for her.

As soon as class started and they had to stop talking (though they still whispered a lot) Jay pulled a Warriors book out of her bag and opened it up, immediately diving into the action she had left behind last night when she stopped reading to go to sleep at 2:00 AM.

She was so intensely focused on the situation in the book that she didn't even notice the English teacher calling her name until the 8th time she said it.

After class, Jay pulled out an MP3 player and flipped through many songs by Green Day, Paramore, ABBA, Flyleaf, Evanescence, and Panic! At the Disco before finally settling for a Japanese song that she liked. Jay loved music and reading and she was an amazing artist, but she felt she could do better...

She walked into her next class just as the song ended and sat sulkily at her desk; while she may be upbeat around the people she cared about, she wasn't to fond of sitting in class with a bunch of people who hated her. It wasn't that she hated them or even disliked them. The only reason she felt sulky was because of the fact that she didn't know what to do or say around them and they always made fun of her. She always tried to be nice and make peace but sometimes she boiled up inside and needed to rant at someone. Luckily, Dusk was such an epic friend that she'd let Jay rant about stuff she didn't like and then let her calm down so they could go to lunch. That's what Jay liked about Dusk: she would let you be angry, she would never tell lie and whenever someone said something mean to Dusk about Jay, she would tell Jay. But Dusk was moving... what could Jay do?!
