A few weeks after the Final Killing Game, Makoto Naegi is shown a book that he's warned could change how the survivors of Hope's Peak's 78th class view each other and themselves. As they review the book, Naegi and Kirigiri try to deal with their feelings and find their place in the Foundation - or outside it. This story tries to fill the gap before the last scene of DR3: Hope Side.
