AU. Meet Richard Castle, playboy mystery writer and reality television latest star. Beckett's undercover to bust a drug ring and part of her cover involves getting very close to one of New York's most eligible bachelors. The strait-laced cop isn't charmed by his flirty banter and she won't chase after him like the female contestants on the show. She's out to cuff him, not jump him.

1998. It's just a small bookstore. She's nineteen; he's twenty nine. AU of Beckett and Castle's first meeting before Allison Tisdale's murder, though the later chapters continue on from "Flowers for Your Grave" and stay mostly AU.

Castle's been absent. Character study set somewhere in the spring of Season 2. I like to create back-stories for these wonderful characters and give them opportunities to flesh out their "off-camera" lives a bit. Marlowe & Miller et al own Castle and my heart. Post Ep Cops and Robbers... yes I know it's been done but not by me... Secrets are revealed but it's not a heavy.. angsty type of fic it's hmmm how to explain.. I promise to have only one Kate breakdown and then fluff and light funny moments but I really just don't like summaries. I know they weren't together at this point but in my mind they can be if I want them to be. :)

This was originally part of my one shot series. Follows the effects of Kate's shooting and the months after. What will Rick do when he finds out she remembers everything?

Sometimes there is a conflict between our head and our heart and before this conflict can be resolved, something happens that makes us wish, we would have listened to our heart before to save valuable time. This story takes place in the middle of season 4. Castle and Becket are not in a relationship yet.
