Hi! I've been reading stories from this site for a while, and now I finally opened an account. Yay! I probably won't write much (sorry), because I'd rather write original stories. To me, most of the books I love are complete on their own, and it feels like sacrilege to add to them... I figured this out when I had an entire story and cast planned in the Harry Potter books - I'd mapped out literally pages upon pages of details and sketches, and even started a few chapters, not to mention I'd spent hours imagining exactly how things would unfold. Sigh. Oh well! I expect my first story will be from the Twilight world. After all, I have to put something up here, and I don't care for the series that much. It's the ideas behind it (not the story itself, as yet) that interest me. Even so, I like Vivian Vande Velde's Companions of the Night much better, despite it's iffy title and awful cover. Seriously, did whoever designed it even read the book? I love Jane Austen, Brian Jacques, Garth Nix, J.K. Rowling, Kenneth Oppel, Kristen Britain, Ellis Peters, C.S. Lewis and a host of others. Plus poets, but then the list would go on forever. Anyway, I'm up for challenges, even though I probably won't get them done in time. Hope you enjoy! |
