In late October 1814, a fire at the Great House brings Anne to Kellynch Hall and into the frequent company of Captain Wentworth. This story includes elements of the present as well as flashbacks to their first engagement in 1806. It is set pre-Lyme and pre-Winthrop, so he has not yet entangled himself with Louisa nor come to terms with his true feelings for Anne. HEA as always!

Peeta Mellark always watched Katniss Everdeen from afar never talking to her always wishing he could. After a terrible accident that leaves him blind he thinks everything is lost not only his opportunity with Katniss but his will to live. In Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth is angry at Mr. Darcy for his supposed treatment of Mr. Wickham, and he in turn feels that he cannot confide in her because of his pride in his family. What if he felt honor bound to tell her the truth at the ball? Would they come to an understanding faster? This is a preview of the book.

He's drunk and mad. He's slurring his words and he looks a mess, back the way he started. Each of the steps he takes is wobbly and uncoordinated, and he looks mad with rage and alcohol. Tears pour down like a waterfall as she steps closer. "Peeta…" she breathes warily, "I didn't know they were coming…" She is trying to dance around the subject of the homeless shelter.

Peeta is a humble baker's son who falls in love with a mysterious huntress in the woods as a child. After he is tossed from his home he sets off to the King's castle in hopes of finding employment and his love. Yet an entirely different fate awaits him; a throne and a princess. Although he may still get the girl of his dreams, because there was more to the huntress than he knew.

"I don't need it," Peeta says firmly. "I don't want anything from you."
