Edric and his friends decide to compete in the Regional Pokèmon League instead of going straight to college after High School. Edric learns the value of true perseverance and life with the Pokèmon he captures and befriends. Rated M for language and other themes. Characters Edric Ryerson is a fearsome battler who placed in the top of his class back in the days of Trainer Academy. As a boy of seventeen, he is not very tall. He is brown-haired and pale-skinned. Throughout his journey, he is determined to catch many Pokèmon to expand his type-coverage and take on any opponent. He prefers physical attacks over anything else, and uses his Pokèmon to the extent of their battling prowess. Chimchar/Monferno Shinx/Luxio Psyduck Noibat Sawk Scraggy Trevenant Ethan Jacobs, Edric's boyfriend and long time friend since kindergarten, Is a creative and exciting boy who isn't afraid to challenge whoever he sees as a worthy opponent. He stands at 1.83 meters and 146 pounds, tallest of his companions. Despite his height, he is extremely friendly and gentle to his boyfriend. His battle style is an exact reflection of his personality; innovative and effective. He has an aptitude for Pokèmon with a wide open moveset as well as speed he is able to work with. Treecko/Grovyle Buneary Abra/Kadabra Sandshrew Horsea Emily Ryerson, Edric's first and only cousin, is determined and extremely confident in her own strength. Sometimes her boastfulness can get the best of her, and she comes off as cocky and broad to her traveling companions, and sometimes create arguments with them, but they get over it in time. She is dark haired and pale-skinned, like Edric and stands an entire foot under Ethan. She is fond of big Pokèmon that overpower her opponents. Her battling style is brutal and unforgiving, and she does not like to lose. Rhydon Tepig/Pignite Magikarp/Gyarados Larvitar Gastly Pancham Hart Jacobs, whom the other three met during their journey, is intelligent and analyzing. He usually takes time to assess each option and make the best decision. He is effective and thorough in and out of the battlefield. He stands at a solid '5”11 and has dirty blond hair and green, daring eyes. He does not have one specific battling style, preferring variety over anything else. He constantly surprises his opponents with his Pokemon's non-apparent power. Axew/Fraxure Oshawott/Dewott Growlithe Cubone Riolu Teddiursa Other Characters Michael Grey, Ronny Johnson, and Taylor Hill; Edric met Michael in a small accidental scuffle in Sandgem town and quickly became enemies from then. Michael met Ronny and Taylor in his journey and they quickly joined his posse. They are all fiery battlers with their own specific battling style from technical to powerhouse. To Edric, they're nothing more than enemies, and that's the only thing they'll ever be. Quan Ho is a mysterious trainer of Asian descent. He is an adept user of powerful Pokèmon with many skills suitable for dispatching his opponents quickly and effectively. He is not fond of new people, and prefers to be alone most of the time. He is shorter than Edric and black haired. Peter McLeary is an Irish-American veteran trainer who is the proud companion of over 50 Pokèmon, not including the multiple Pokèmon on his breeder Parent's Kanto Ranch. Having the experience he does, he is nothing short of a master with Pokèmon. He isn't boastful or overconfident like a normal veteran trainer, but he doesn't need to be either. His battling style makes complete use of his Pokemon's abilities as well as his own strengths. He is tall, with brownish-red hair and freckles. Details The story mainly takes place in the Sinnoh region, slightly altered accordingly to the story. Some routes are longer than others, and some shorter. The story is set during a span of several months, thus it may take weeks to navigate through some parts of the region. This alteration was made to make the 'adventure' seem more realistic in the sense that it would take a few months to navigate an entire region on foot, not weeks, as it is in a lot of other stories I've read. Some traditions regarding Pokèmon have changed. Some Pokèmon learn moves foreign to them in terms of the games. Don't worry, I'm not extreme with this. For example, Edric's Psyduck learning Aqua Jet. It does not happen in other instances, but it makes sense. And Psyduck is completely physically capable of executing the move. Also, there is no leveling system, but the experience system is constructed relatively. Pokèmon gain it through battling and happiness, and the level of battling experience is organized into tiers. Read the story for an explanation of the tiers |
