Hey all, I'm Kat! Before you continue reading, I recommend you read the whole thing... as it will explain a lot about me. Here goes. I'm an avid reader, and somewhat amateur writer. I love music, I play several instruments, and I love to sing and dance. Though my dancing is quite ridiculous, as it's just a bunch of spontaneous... spasms more than movements I suppose. :) I love to play basketball and swim, and I love being in the marching band. My pass-times are usually practicing my instrument or basketball, reading or writing fan fiction and poetry, composing music, or... homework. Blah. My favorite thing to do on a rainy day is curl up on the sofa with my cat, a cup of coffee or tea, and either my laptop (for fan fiction) or a good book. I can be an intense grammar Nazi at times, though on occasion I manage to frustrate myself with my own lack of grammar. I'm intensely sarcastic and I like learning about other cultures and languages. In writing, I appreciate broad vocabulary and proper grammar. Just saying. That's... me in a nutshell. :) As far as reading, I love fan fiction (as I've expressed numerous times already), especially relating to the Harry Potter series. I also like other series' works but my usual focus is Harry Potter. It seems it's rather hard to write a fan fiction about Angels and Demons, or Of Mice and Men... two of my favorite books, but it is nearly impossible to alter their storylines. However, it could probably be done, and the day it is... please let me know! :) I love reading a good book, one that will keep my on the edge of my seat, and I do love romances. However, I'm not the biggest fan of slash or femmeslash, but occasionally it appeals to me... depending on the day really. I'm currently caught up in reading a femmeslash... which is a rare occurence, but the storyline is intensely appealing. I admire those who write great stories, and try to talk to them, so pardon me if I try to hold a petty conversation... it's my way of saying "PLEASE HELP ME WRITE." :) Regarding writing, I tend to just write spontaneous works. I plan my writings out as I write them, and usually they come to a good resolve. I enjoy constructive criticism thoroughly, as it helps me in my quest to be a better writer. Also, if you think my storyline sucks, just tell me. I may frown and slump over my laptop for a while, but oh well! With some of my works, I admittedly despise the idea I'm writing off of, especially if the idea could destroy the reputation of a character or just make them out to be different than who they are... if that makes any sense. Sometimes I confuse myself... anyway, I do love to write and I prefer my writings relate to the main series' storyline, though I will occasionally spill out an "alternate dimension" type of story. Though I swear it will be seldom. I tend to not frequently use OC's, but I will on occasion. Please feel free to slander my works with criticism and call me a hypocrite about the things I've written in this profile thing, but I will not take kindly to uncalled for destructive criticism. :) Just a word of advice. I also like to offer constructive criticism, though if you find my suggestions absurd, just shrug them off and tell me to go away. I shall take no offense! Hope to see your works, and hope you read mine! |
