My name is what I am. I am a lovable droll geek. Yes, for all you Rentheads out there, totally stole this lyric from Johnathan Larson, because he (and the lovely Idina Menzel who sing it) are the bomb! Let me see..about me. I am a conservative Christian, I love George Bush (don't eat me!), I love all things that most conservative Christian teen girls love. Here is a list: Books Jane Austen (Pride and Prejudice, Emma, and Mansfield Park were the best, and I CANNOT, for the life of me, get through Northanger Abbey), Charlotte and Emily Bronte (Jane Eyre was better overall, but there are certain sections in Wuthering Heights that are so profound), CS Lewis--all of it! He is one of my role models! Harry Potter, of course!, Lord of the Rings (Eowyn is my hero), Gone with the Wind (yes, it's sooooooo racist. But that does not detract from the great plotting and characters. It makes the book what it is), The Phantom of the Opera, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Bridget Jones's Diary, The Scarlet Pimpernel, To Kill a Mockingbird, Horatio Hornblower Musicals Phantom of the Opera, but only the show. The movie SUCKED. (I am going to be Christine Daae one day, I promise! I can hit a double high e flat! I'm almost there!), The Sound of Music (Julie Andrews has been my role model since I was about six), The Music Man, West Side Story, My Fair Lady, Singin' in the Rain, Dreamgirls, Oklahoma, 1776, South Pacific, and Amadeus (is that technically a musical?) And why have I said neither Rent nor Wicked? Because Wicked, though good, is overrated. I mean some of the lyrics are so cheap. "Somehow I've fallen under your spell/and somehow I'm feeling it's up that I fell!) Pur-leez! And REnt..well, I can't exactly endorse in good conscience anything that glorifies homosexuality (so shoot me, I'm v. conservative. No more story for you.) oh, yeah, I'm an opera person too. There's a LOT of other strange things about me (apart from being a Christian and a Republican, I mean) BUT I'd rather you read my story! (soon to be stories, I promise!) Three final things: REVIEW REVIEW REVIEW. They make me feel loved. Correct my spelling and grammar, too. Go read CS Lewis. AND a quote "The mere habit of learning to love is the thing" -Jane Austen or two "If you are a conservative under thirty you no have heart, if you are a liberal over thirty you have no brains" Winston Churchill "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, its too dark too see." Groucho Marx "Tomorrow is another day!" Scarlett O'Hara |
