"If you're not Dutch, you're not much"

So yeah, I'm Dutch, obviously. A 30-year-old who works as a lawyer and has a writing-shaped hole in her soul.

Fanfic floats my boat (though I write some original stuff as well). I used to read mostly X-Files fic back in the day (Lydia Bower and Leyla Harrison were my heroes!) and dabbled in writing it (godawfully bad in hindsight; thank god I never published any of it ;-p). But when I lost interest in that show, the muse left me in search of greener pastures. I'm very happy to report that the muse has returned to me and directed me toward the show 'Bones' which has caught my fancy. The quirky humor, the heart-versus-head theme, Brennan's journey to grow as a person, Booth and Brennan's complexity, their idiosyncrasies and their complicated but electric interaction fascinate me to no end.

The adage "I'm a shipper at heart, but a realist by nature" (read it online long ago; don't remember who said it) sparked my screenname/penname and my take on male/female relationships on television and in (my) fanfiction. Isn't it much more interesting and tantalizing when the attraction is there but they don't act on it?--just yet, anyway. (Which is not to say I don't enjoy reading fanfic about that ;-D)
