Read all four Twilight books in March 2010 and discovered fanfiction a few months later. I usually read about 3 or 4 fanfics per week. Former English teacher and a journalism/public relations major, now a SAHM who stays up way too late. Totally admire all those who try their hand at writing here. I can't believe that so many give so generously of their time and ideas, and I get to read it all for FREE.

What I like to read:

Edward/Bella and other canon couples; I want to love the Bella/Jasper fics, but just can't do it. :)

Usually read stories that are at least 100k words

My favorite fics are AU/New Moon variations (even though that was my least fave book).

Love me some angst as long as it's a HEA

Smut, but smut that serves a purpose :) Well, I guess it all serves a purpose. heh heh Prefer if aforementioned smut does not use the word *folds* anywhere... shudder.

I can usually tell in the first chapter if I'm going to love story, but I never abandon a story without reading at least three chapters.

Not for me:

Almost never read incomplete stories b/c I see several that get abandoned or not updated for MONTHS on end. Also, I don't think I could keep track of multiple incomplete plots.

One dimensional characters can really wear on my nerves. For example, I have no problem if Alice loves to shop and give Bella makeovers, BUT she needs to have more to her than just that.
