It's been many years since I started reading fanfiction, but my interest has been very on and off. I also wrote a bit, most notably the Intervention fic. I abandoned it six years ago, and honestly at this point I have my own world that I write about when the desire to write strikes. But lately I've been feeling nostaligic, and for me that mostly means watching Disney movies and reading Ranma fanfics. I was going through my old external hard drive and discovered a folder full of text-to-speech mp3 files that I made from Ranma fics back in May of 2011. Mostly Rewind Gone Wrong's stuff (He's good, you should all check out his fics).

Anyway, I also had Intervention in text-to-speech form, so I listened to that, and thought what a shame I never finished it, because I kinda liked listening to it. I've been thinking I should give it another go. In all honesty I'm not sure I'll finish it this time either, but maybe I can at least wrap up a few of the loose ends the manga left us to play with.

If you've come to this profile page because you checked out Intervention and would like to know a little more about my views on the Ranmaverse, I've put down a few thoughts below:

1. Ryoga sucks. Turning into a piglet to snuggle with Akane is creepy as fuck. He's also pretty pathetic in other respects; always blaming Ranma, never taking responsibility for anything himself, his inability to do anything to mitigate his handicap, etc.

2. Shampoo is the best match for Ranma. They are both ridiculously obsessed with martial arts, in a way the other fiancees aren't, especially Akane. She just works out a few times a week and is satisfied where she is. She's going to end up either going to college or staying in Nerima, and in neither case would she ever consider going with Ranma on a long adventure around Asia in search of secret techniques. Shampoo on the other hand is pretty open about only coming there to pursue Ranma, and is the most promising martial artist of her generation back home.

I heartily recommend 'Power', 'Dream of the Earthbound' and the fics of Rewind Gone Nuts, all of which can be found here on ff. They are very good fics, and mostly feature a RanmaxShampoo pairing.
