I've been reading fan fiction for years, and finally thought I would try my hand at it. I'm 53 and female and hope that I have enough experience in this world to pull this off!

Broken Hearts Still Beat is this freshman attempt, and I do wish that you enjoy it! Alexine is a unique character, and I hope that you find her partnership with the Doctor as enjoyable as I'm finding it. She's taken on a life of her own, and already has hijacked the outline in a couple of places. This story is being told from both points of view - that's my writing style, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you find the pace comfortable and natural.

My Doctor is #10, but only because #9 left just when he was becomming interesting to me. So when I mention things like him flashing his toothy grin...well, you all know what I'm talking about, right? This story doesn't follow all of his cannon, though - just his description and cheeky attitude.

I hope you enjoy our trip with the Doctor. Have a cup of tea and a hankie ready, and we'll be back in time for breakfast. I promise!

2/14/09 A prequel to Broken Hearts Still Beat has been posted. There's a running joke in the story that refers to a Princess of the Water Nebula. Several readers asked me to tell them what the joke was. Well...there really wasn't one, but I got to thinking, and I've posted the backstory. 12/21/11 It's been awhile since I've posted this story, because I've been working on some original fiction spinning off from Alexine. But I have a plot bunny bugging me and I think I'm going to have to re-visit the Doctor soon...maybe in the new year.
