Transformed; can't change who I am.

I got into writing about three years ago, around the same time that I found this website and created my account here. Since then, people here have told me that I'm pretty good at it, so I dived deeper into it. Sometime in late April of 2012, I first paid real attention to the Transformers. Since then, I have been a huge fan, especially Transformers Prime. A lot of people say that I like Transformers too much, but they always say that to a passionate fan of any particular thing. The Transformers world offers me peace and a way to escape the chaos of life.

If you sit and think about it, the situations that go on in Transformers are frighteningly parallel to real live events here on Earth. If you take away all the plasma guns, energon and giant robots, their war is indeed parallel to a war that could come at any moment. In their world, people die from the terrible acts of those believed to be allies, friends are made in the most unlikely of places and ideals, originally meant to be pure, corrupt. All of these, completely realistic. The Transformers can be seen as a clever way to show us in an entertaining, seemingly unrealistic fashion the all too real ravages of war and that it can ultimately lead to a dead end.

Optimus Prime is my role model. He has suffered a great deal in the war, yet still clings to hope with a death grip, despite all the misfortunes around him. More concerned for his troops than himself, he kept an optimistic viewpoint, knowing that if the strength in his hope begins to wane, his troops' strength will wane as well. He could not allow the Decepticons to win and strives to protect humans from all hurt, harm, or danger involving their war. Even though humans may not deserve his protection, and on several occasions betrayed the Autobots, he risks life and limb to keep Earth from falling to the Decepticons and sharing Cybertron's darkened fate. This is demonstrated wonderfully in Transformers: Dark of the Moon when the US government tried to appease the Decepticons by booting the Autobots off the planet, despite the fact that people agreed that the Autobots are their only chance against the Decepticons. The fact that he came back to defend mankind after that blatant act of desperation and betrayal speaks volumes about his true character. I, personally, would have left the Earth to the Decepticons, since the humans were clearly stating that we Autobots were not needed.

Nevertheless, Optimus Prime is my role model because of his steel re-enforced patience and unparalleled endurance. His kindness and caring towards those he loves is without bounds. I hope to gain even a tiny fraction of his wisdom within my lifetime.

Though Optimus is my role model, Ratchet is the bot that I can relate to most. He has been torn and clawed at by war and his job as a medic is, by far, one of the hardest jobs someone can have during wartime. He watched patient after patient die under his watch and is affected by each and every last one of those deaths. What draws me to him is his high value on life. I once believed that if you see people die frequently, your value on life goes down significantly. Instead, Ratchet did the opposite. He works harder than anyone I have ever seen to help those in need of medical care. He realized in the war that life was very precious and ought not to be thrown away. Though he tends to get very irritated and grumpy when his comrades come to him damaged and bleeding energon, he still cares for all of them. In fact, acting as a hot-headed, grouchy, foul-mouthed, wrench throwing medic of doom is his way of showing his comrades that he cares for all of them and greatly dislikes it when they get hurt in battle. I act in a similar fashion. Working hard to cover my true feelings while still showing them it others.

As you can probably tell, my favorite TV show and movies have something to do with the Transformers. But, to be more specific, my favorite TV show is Transformers Prime and my Transformers related favorite movie thus far is Transformers Dark of the Moon. My favorite favorite is The Lion King. Transformers Prime is by far the best TV series I have ever seen. It is extremely well written and the characters, old and new, are all wonderful. Each character has their flaws, though, and they all show at some point in the series, making me love the series even more. As for Dark of the Moon... They did quite well with this one and has progressed to be more serious in the plot, something I didn't see enough of in the 2007 Transformers movie.

In the television shows I have watched over the years, I have noticed a certain trend. The vast majority of the shows I watched and still watch have metal in significant parts in the shows. In the 2001-2004 cartoon Samurai Jack, the main character battled armies of robots with a sacred sword. In the 2005-2008 show Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Fire Nation had war machines, metal armor and metal war balloons. In the 2009 show Wolverine and the X-Men, Logan had long metal claws, and there were government created and controlled bots called sentinels, designed to catch 'rogue' mutants. The 2010-2013 show Generator Rex featured a teenager who had the ability to generate mechanical devices from his body caused by microscopic machines called nanites. These machines infected all creatures on Earth, due to an 'accident'. And finally, the 2010- show Transformers Prime features the progress of a war waged between two factions called the Autobots and Decepticons. These factions consist of autonomous robotic organisms from the metal planet many light years away from Earth called Cybertron. I seem to have an interest in metal in general.

I am the Girl...

I am the girl ... that doesn't go to school dances, and when I do go, I sit in a corner and read a book, and if I do dance, I dance solo. I am the girl that people look through when I say something. I am the girl that spends most of her free time reading, writing, or doing other activities that most teenagers wouldn't call normal. I am the girl that people call weird, and a freak or a geek either behind my back or to my face. I am the girl that doesn't spend all her time on My Space or Yahoo, or talking to a girlfriend on a cellphone or a regular phone. I am the girl that doesn't stalk boys because they're cute or are jocks. I am the girl who sings her heart out in public. I am the girl that has stopped to smell the flowers and jump and splash in the rain. But I am also the girl who knows and is proud to be who she is, doesn't care if people call her weird, who loves reading and writing and doing the things that no one seems to have the time to do any more, who can express herself better with words, who believes in her dreams, and knows the importance of the little things. I just love learning about astronomy, geology, and zoology, especially wolves. I love my cats, all seven of them (two live inside, one comes and goes, while the rest live outside). I have been considered adventurous by those around me. One time I drank water from a cave (it was clean, mind you), and I crawled into an old wolf den during my trip to Yellowstone National Park in the summer of 2012. I love to draw - I've been doing so for as long as I can remember. I love to read as well, specifically science fiction.

Unlike most of my teenage peers, I like to watch documentaries on the Science Channel, Travel Channel, History and History International channels, as well as a multitude of other channels.

I am a serious fan of the Transformers franchise. I've gotten to the point of buying what merchandise I can and conducting earnest research on the Transformers. Thus far I have:

Reunited

You were a loyal Seeker and had a brave spark.
Although I am an Autobot at heart,

(I was very upset to see Transformers Prime Dreadwing killed and I have to put up this poem for one of my top favorite Decepticons. He should not have died, the poor guy. He had a right to want to kill Starscream. The grey Seeker pulled his twin out of stasis. Because of that he was killed in battle. Then Starscream tried to resurrect Skyquake with Dark Energon, only to leave him wandering around in the 4th dimension as a zombie. I believe Dreadwing would have done well as an Autobot.)
