![]() Hello, there :) I'm Alex (a girl), live in the Midwest and NO! When I look out my window I do not see fields of wheat and cows! haha. I live near the river. Hobbies...let's see. I love hanging out with my friends. I love to run while listening to music. Biking is luxurious. Visiting family in Mexico in this cute, colorful town. Picking flowers and if they're especially pretty, they go in my hair :) The library is like a second home for me. And strawberry pop is deLIcious. Favorite TV shows: Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, Jon and Kate Plus 8, Whale Wars, America's Funniest Home Videos, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, George Lopez, The Nanny, Top Chef, What Not to Wear, Cash Cab I love listening to all kinds of music. I tend to sway more towards alternative rock...some pop music here and there...90's music is so FREAKIN good!!...and even music stemming from the '50s and '40s... Just any kind of music that grabs my attention. Here's a list! My favorite radio station is 89.1 the wood =) Sigur Ros play achingly beautiful music, Coldplay, U2, The Fray, Dashboard Confessional, Radiohead, Third Eye Blind, Damien Rice, The Cranberries, Cold War Kids, Caroline, K.T. Tunstall, Ben E. King, Adele, Aqualung, Imogen Heap, Isreal Kamakawiwo'ole, Jeff Buckley, Joseph Arthur, Kings of Leon, DISNEY music!, Mute Math, Snow Patrol, The Verve, Yiruma, Youth Group, Robert Pattinson (ahhhhh, what a vision and voice), Arcade Fire I LLLOOOOVVVEEEE to read. It's just so nice to lose yourself in a story and completely delve into a new world; leaving you and your problems behind. Ahh. Though I do tend to always read romance novels. Gotta, gotta, gotta have some romance aspect in it. I prefer alpha-males who are flawed, and the more flawed the better, because then their journey to finding love and happiness is that more profound and captivating. It makes the story have all the more meaning to it. Makes the moments of tenderness all the more sweeter. And certainly the same for heroines. I adore when you can tell the author has completely given themselves to telling the story and having the characters tell their tale. Here are some of my favorite authors: L.J. Smith! I recommend that you check out "The Vampire Diaries" especially since it's a bit reminiscent of "Twilight." Stephan and Elena are such strong protagonists and their love is incredibly concrete but always tested by outside forces. However, that 4th book was just plain random. Stephenie Meyer! "Twilight." You may have heard of it. It's SO understated! :9 Alyson Noel! Writes "The Immortals Series" and you seriously have to read it. She writes of such a rich, fantasy world. Richelle Mead! Ya must read! haha. Anywho, she writes the "Vampire Academy Series" and its pretty dang good ;) For some reason, Adrian just does it more for me than Dimitri. Hm. I think its the Edward-like looks. Bronze, messy hair...Green EYES!! ah. I swoon. T.S. Elliot simply because the guy was DEEP. J.K. Rowling is a magician, I am certain =D The "Harry Potter" books are nothing short of epic. J.R. Ward writes of the "Black Dagger Brotherhood" and WOOO! Talk about flawed, sexy, alpha-males with such intricate detailing of a world under war against the Lessers; all the while finding their mates unexpectedly and therefore LOVE! Seriously. SUCH a complicated, even grity world. But the romance aspect? Sizzling. MY absolute favorite hunk of the virile bunch is RHAGE!! You HAVE to read "Lover Eternal" I beg of you! He's just my kinda guy; funny, sexy, sweet with an edge and ferocious lover. Hmmmm. Lori Foster! I have to say, I love her old school pieces more. "Impetuous" is simply a treasure. Ladie's Man Tyler is simply smitten by the harem-costume lady he spent a hot night with, yet ended up waking alone with no idea who the woman was since she wore a mask. Gradeshool teacher Carlie would feel the upmost mortification if he were to find out he spent the nigh with her; so she keeps quiet. What ensues when they are needed to work together and have budding feelings for the other? You simply should not pass up this read; their bantering is so much fun and Tyler is too alluring with his flirty, tender ways with Carlie. Donna Kauffman wrote "Going Down?" which is a short story a part of an anthology, and is stunning. It's about two very different people who end up stuck in a dark elevator with nothing to do but bear their souls...and then some :o) Kathy Love is pretty good, too. I've read "Fangs for the Memories" and "Any Way You Want It" by her. Read her books if you're looking for entertainment that is well-written since she connects love with haunting pasts that her characters still suffer over. Jeaniene Frost!! Writes the "Night Huntress Novels" and damn what a world! You got your vampires, ghouls, ghosts, zombies, wraiths...Holy smokes! But it's never cramped. The stories are pretty tight and such a pleasure to read! Cat is this half-vamp girl who is very compassionate, yet can easily throw a dagger to a vamp's heart if he or she asks for it. She seriously kicks ass in the name of justice. Oh and Bones!! Such an alluring combination of roughness, tenderness, yes he's dangerous, but he loves like you wouldn't believe! He is SUCH a solid man and you have to see him for yourself. Oh, and did I mention he has an English accent? Hot damn. "Fantasy Lover" by Sherrilyn Kenyon is quite frankly gold. It's about this Greek love-slave who has been bamished to reside within a book, and has been doing so for 2,000 years thus far. However, when Grace Alexander summons him and finds that this MAN has been treated disturbingly wrong, can she save him from the perpetual darkness before the 30 days is up? I laughed, I blushed, I cried, and I was touched very deeply for what Julian of Macedon went through. "If You Deceive" by Kresley Cole is STUPENDOUS! My 2nd favorite book. It's an historical romance concering a sly chit named Maddie and a scarred, rough man named Ethan...Who is delicious with his brooding way, scarred face, SCOTTISH ACCENT, and most of all; his feelings for the little blond and how she correlates to his prior downfall years back. This is magic. "The Price of Pleasure" is the perfect story rendering whether it is true or not that opposites attract. Ya got Grant Sutherland who is strait-laced, prim, proper, honorable. But can he resist the new impulses he feels when he encounters the wild, care-free, fun Victoria Dearbourne, whose been lost on an island for 8 years? A deep, sensual read. I would love to move to L.A. one day to pursue acting...Or just end up as a librarian =) I love books so much, so why not? We'll see. I love vintage and comfortable clothing... Sap for romance, you know this already. So that's about it. Be good to each other and peace out :) |
