Author has written 2 stories for Newsies.

Rae here. It's been forever since I've updated this profile, and I figure it's about time. I guess I'll give an 'about my stories' bit.

Midnight

I really can't describe this story in a simple way. That is why my summaries for it always suck. I've been working on this story for almost two years, and it is my baby. I feel like Midnight represents a part of me; she is the person who I would be if I didn't have to keep the peace, maintain the order, and follow the system. While my character has developed a personality of her own and has taken her own path, she is deeply rooted in the personality of her maker.

Secondly, I would like to apologize for my lack of updates and my general not-so-amazingness with some chapters. Newsies is a love of mine that will never die, but as I get older, I get busier, and I don't give the movie as much time as I used to be able to. I am, on occasion, in the mood, and I will update rather frequently. However, it is rare. Also, I have the whole story planned out and mapped (I'll be lucky if I can keep it under 60 chapters), but sometimes, when I'm in these moods, I want to get to the good parts of the story, and I often B.S. some chapters to get there. There are also times when I just want to get it all written.

Thirdly, I need to officially state once-and-for-all that Midnight doing her police work is not historically correct. I too doubt that they would let a young girl do detective work. But, as the story was conceived when I was younger and not so careful, and I'm too attacted to it to change it now, she is a detective. I'm sorry if you just can't get over that.

Lastly, have faith! "Midnight" is the story of her life, and life goes on. You will know for sure when I am done, believe me. Until then, be patient. We're in for the long haul.

The Walk Home

This is a quick one shot about anonymous characters. A man who was once a newsie is forced to grow up and leave the lifestyle, much to his dismay. He regrets it, and looks fondly on his newsie years. It is, in a way, a silent reflection of my own growing up and having to leave things and people behind. Also, regardless of this personal connection, Midnight readers may notice a few common trends in the two stories. Who knows? Maybe such a situation could occur in the future... coughcough. It shouldn't be too hard for someone to name the anonymous characters, but they are universal and can be whomever you like.

Wow. That really wasn't a 'bit', that was a 'lot.'

Thanks to all,

Rae Lazur
