剣を殺す, 技を殺す, 氣を殺す l Those who live by the sword, will die by the sword l The one-thousand-mile-journey begins with the one step.

Hello/안녕하세요/Hola/今日は

My name is Talula Aspen. I'm a strange girl who does strange things. I speak English and Korean fluently and I'm currently learning Spanish and Japanese. I'm a part-time bassist (upright), part-time kendoka, part-time snowboarder, part-time writer, and will forever be a learning student. I currently reside in Canada and Korea (depending on the month) but I really want to move to either London or Japan. I'm all over the place, I know.

About Me (as a bassist):
I started playing the bass when I was in grade nine because a teacher offered me. I'd been playing the violin nine/ten years prior to that and I was getting sick of it so I went Why not? Unlike the violin, however, the bass has kept me captivated. My favourite composers include: Prokofiev, Vanhal, Koussevitsky, Bottesini, Dragonetti, Piazzolla (very bass-oriented composers), Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, Beethoven, Elgar, and Brahms amongst many, many others that I cannot name right now. My teacher was principal bassist of a wonderful orchestra and he is my biggest inspiration when it comes to playing the bass.

About Me (as a writer):
I dream a lot. In the day, in the night, wherever I can. I love imagining the ideals, the dreams, and the 'what-ifs'. If something comes as cliche to you, my apologies for that. Some moments are based off of my real life experiences which is also why I treasure my writing a lot. I got into FanFiction when I was in elementary school--I mostly read stories then but now I don't read at all! Words would mesmerize me and hug me close during lonely evenings, and I'd always admired what other authors had in mind for a certain franchise, and it's taken me a lot of courage and time to put my own stories up. I mostly write for my own enjoyment but if I see a review that also liked my story, I'd be really, really happy.

About Me (as a kendoka):What can I say? It was like I fell in love. I'm currently training to be part of Team _ depending on what's going to happen to my citizenship, but yes, World Championships has been my dream ever since I started kendo. Winning and losing matters, sure, but that's not why I play kendo. It's my healing sport. It's the thing that makes me grow as a human. It has taught me what it means to be a leader, and what it means to be a student. Without it, I don't even know where I'd be right now. It has taught me a lot of important life lessons and has led me to eternal friends and teachers.

Hopefully you'll see me soon on T.V! Haha.
