![]() Author has written 1 story for Pirates of the Caribbean. The MaDReVieweR strikes again!!!! I am always on the hunt for GOOD stories. That means that even if I am not familiar with the particular movie, book, etc. that a writing is inspired by, I still understood the point and plot of your writing. (A good writer can get that across or should let the readers know beforehand that they should get some background knowledge. However, if you cannot find a way to include the necessary info for your particular writing, then you should probably think about what you are trying to do more. Do NOT ever rely on someone else to create all the important parts of the world you are trying to create. That said: I DO NOT read slash and absolutely refuse to review it. That's just my thing. I try to give honest reviews about style, the way things flow, if they make sense, stuff like that. I may not be the best writer but I know good when I see it. What really gets to me is when someone has a passion and cares enough about their work that they take time to PROOFREAD(pet-peeve:typos), and REVISE. Passion for your craft is the thing that should drive all artists, be they writers, actors, painters, or whatever. O.K. now I'll get off my soapbox. About moi: I am in the quasi-legal age, meaning that I am old enough to party-hardy, but not old enough to drink like a drunken sailor.I live in a remote outpost on the edge of space (Mississippi)and I am married with one little boy (gorgeous!) Favorite movies: My absolute favorite that I think EVERYONE should watch: Without A Paddle. My favorite line in that whole movie is "No, but I ate a brownie once." OH and "stop, drop and roll...stop, drop, and roll..." Watch it and find out what I'm talking about. There are a ton more because movies are what I'm in to. I don't really watch T.V. except for Who's Line Is It, Anyway? (when I can catch it)and the Ellen Show. And American Idol. I so admire Simon and his direct style; too many people play games nowadays. Paula gets on my LAST Nerve, she has no decisive opinions whatsoever. Oooh, music. Everything by Maroon 5, Nickleback, Fall Out Boy, All-American Rjects, Hinder, Green Day. I'm into a little Kelly Clarkson now, but listening to the radio is a little hard, since the annoying man next door has his CB on ALL THE TIME and my radio, baby moniter, and cordless phone pick up every word he says, which wouldn't be so bad if he had anything even remotely interesting to say, which he doesn't. PS.I am seriously able to Beta for anyone and I really don't mind. Rules:No Slash, as far as I know right now, that's it. And critisism must not be taken as insult, just as a desire to see some truly inspired and creative writers improve. |
