![]() Author has written 3 stories for Fullmetal Alchemist. Hi! I'm Fiore-the-Dragoness, or just Fiore or Kat, if you prefer nicknames. I am more active on AO3 if you'd like to pester me there. Just be aware that I am entrenched in Undertale at the moment. Please feel free to talk to me. I'm not mean. I'm nice and respectful. I'm open to constructive criticism and reviews alike. Although, I will use flames to toast marshmallows. S'mores, anyone? Random Stuff Tips for New Authors: 1. (most important!) You must have imagination 2. Look for ideas in anything; songs, books, movies, TV shows, etc. 3. Make your stories like something you would read. If you wouldn't read it, chances are no one would either 4. Know what you're writing about. 5. Be creative 6. Be descriptive 7. Don't rush through scenes, take your time 8. Don't steal other peoples' ideas. It's okay to be inspired by others' ideas, but make it different 9. Use the most correct grammar as possible 10. Use correct punctuation 11. Add plot twists 12. Always have conflicts, minor or major 13. Cliffhangers keep people reading 14. Try to avoid being OOC (out of character) 15. Keep people guessing 16. Add hints for future events 17. Add at least one death (or psuedo-death) scene if you can 18. Humor is good even if you're not writing a humor story 19. Don't use too much drama; drama is good but never go overboard (and finally) 20. Don't be afraid to use your own life for story ideas YOU KNOW YOU'RE AN AUTHOR IF... You talk to yourself a lot. (A lot meaning all the time...) You talk to yourself about talking to yourself. (e.g. 'Why do I constantly ask myself random things?') When you talk to yourself you often talk to yourself like you're talking to someone else. (e.g. 'Have you ever noticed that deliver could mean someone's liver?') After uttering a profound piece of wisdom like that above, you stare at the cookie in your hand with awe and say, "Wow, this stuff is great for sugar highs...' You live off of sugar and caffeine (the two greatest things ever discovered!) You'll check your e-mail every day of the week and then disappear off the face of the earth. You're e-mails tend to be pages long and incredibly random. When replying to an e-mail, you'll never actually address the point of it. You tend to collect Bic Stics off the ground like picking pennies off the ground. No matter where you are in a room you never have to get up to find a pen/pencil and paper. The letters on your keyboard are wearing off. Your friends and family think that you have carpal tunnel syndrome. People think you have A.D.D. You think it'd be cool to have A.D.D. (Hah. I actually have a diagnosis for this now.) You constantly start talking in third person, present or past tense. You start thinking about making lists like this and start giggling for no "apparent" reason Your friends stopped looking at you funny when you laugh for no apparent reason a loooooong time ago. And FINALLY, the one way to tell if you're a good writer: You failed English 101. (copy that into you're profile if you fit one or more of the descriptions) Can you blveiee tihs? Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. Its ether my mom or dad, my older brother Colin, or my younger brother Ho-Chan-Chu, but I think its Colin. Meddle Not In The Affairs Of Dragons, For You Are Crunchy And Good With Ketchup! "You have two good legs, get up and use them." - Edward Elric "The best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - that you'd thought special, particular to you. And here it is, set down by someone else, a person you've never met, maybe even someone long dead. And it's as if a hand has come out, and taken yours." -Alan Bennet "You can approach the act of writing with nervousness, excitement, hopefulness, or even despair- the sense that you can never completely put on the page what's in your mind and heart. You can come to the act with your fists clenched and your eyes narrowed, ready to kick butt and take down names. You can come to it because you want a girl to marry you or because you want to change the world. Come to it any way but lightly. Let me say it again: you must not come lightly to the blank page." -Stephen King "I was working on the proof of one of my poems all morning, and took out a comma. In the afternoon I put it back again." -Oscar Wilde "Life isn't a support-system for art. It's the other way around." -Stephen King "Persons attempting to find a motive in this narrative will be prosecuted; persons attempting to find a moral in it will be banished; persons attempting to find a plot in it will be shot." -Mark Twain 'Someday your Prince Charming will come.’ Yeah, mine just took a wrong turn, got lost, and is too stubborn to ask for directions. I believe we are free, within limits, and yet there is an unseen hand, a guiding angel, that somehow, like a submerged propeller, drives us on. - Rabindranath Tagore For every mountain, there is a miracle. - Robert H. Schuller Stress cannot exist in the presence of pie. - David Mamet "I find your lack of faith disturbing."--Darth Vader "Up is down. Well that's just maddeningly unhelpful. Why are these things never clear?"--Jack Sparrow "Yes, I know I'm crazy. But I'll let you in on a little secret. The best people are."--Alice to the Mad Hatter/Alice's Father to the younger Alice "The pen may be mightier, but the sword still hurts like heck." "Stupidity got us into this, why can't it get us out?" "Sarcasm isn't an attitude; it's an ART. " "Define 'normal'." "When life gives you lemons, make apple juice, then sit back & enjoy while others try to figure out how you did it." "The road to success is always under construction." "If at first you don’t succeed, redefine success." "Hold on, I can’t hear you! Let me turn down my AWESOMENESS." "Adults always blame our generation, but have they ever stopped to think who raised us?" "If you make a mistake, don't say 'Oops', say 'Ah...interesting...'" "A painless lesson is one without meaning. One who does not sacrifice anything does not achieve anything." "I am a writer. I can deny all the realities I want." "Y'know what? I don't like reality. I think I'll move back into my own little world." "Laugh now, mortal; but just remember -- everything is edible." |
