I'll probably post something here eventually. Why? Well, why not?
In the mean time, I digress from my true purpose here, which is reminding people why we write.
1. A real artist does not write for reviews.
2. A real artist especially does not write for vapid "oh, i love that [piece of crap you wrote]" reviews.
3. A real artist writes because she must, because it is part of her soul.
4. A real artist works until her fingers are numb, making each piece as perfect as possible.
5. A real artist gets constructive criticism, feels her belly drop in response, then realises that the critic was only trying to help her improve. Gratefully, she rereads her piece and considers the criticism maturely and always with an eye toward making it better.
5. A real artist learns to spell. Hell, even people who are first-year students in a language learn to spell correctly. And it ain't that hard: buy a dictionary. Or a spell-checker.
So, are you a real artist? If not, please stop subjecting the rest of us to your amateurish attempts.
Problem? Feel free to e-mail.
