![]() Author has written 4 stories for Pokémon. Miner7365's Biography Hello anybody reading this, I write stories. Usually demented stories, but still stories. Review Policy Due to recent... 'events' that have happened in the community, I figured I should clarify this before I get called a supporter of a certain someone for giving out criticism in my reviews. I'll arrange this as a series of bulleted points because I figure that would be a much better way to get the point across. 1. I don't care if you capitalize or don't capitalize, or however you handle the first letter of pokémon names in your story. Apparently this is a trigger topic for some people. I don't know why it is that way for those people, but it is. Personally, I've always capitalize them because of the fact that the games did it that way, and because in PMD there was always this implication that it was always referred to as a name, but i'm honestly fine if you do not capitalize them and do it your own way. There is way more to story telling then whether you capitalize the name of something or not, and i'm not gonna waste my time bothering to say anything on this petty dispute that needs to just stop already. 2. I will generally point out if I take something as being 'overdone' or 'cliché'. Now, let me clarify something here, just because something has been done before doesn't mean you can't try to do it better yourself. If no one ever used anything from any other story they read, then writing would run out of ideas within... ten years maximum, maybe twenty if we get lucky. But that does not mean it's fine to have a story that, let's say, starts off in a PMD world where a Charmander gets woken up by a Bulbasaur before they realize the Charmander has some inherent power within him called something like, I don't know, the call or something ominous like that. Scytherider, one of the more famous writers on this site, got away with this back in 2008 because that was back when PMD 2 was just released and everyone was able to write new, fresh spin offs without any fear of copying anyone else. That was back in 2008 though, with it now being 2018, 10 years since then. I'm not saying it's impossible to do something like that, and heck, you might be able to pull it off well, but I do think at a certain point it does start to detract from your story. There are other things I keep in mind too, but I think this is enough for now at least. This is subject to change if I feel the need to change it, but for now this is how it is. Stories Incidence X (Cancelled) Please, believe me when I say don't read this. It is kinda like the beta version of Bitter and Cold, at least conceptually. Of course, I wrote it back when I was going through my stupid middle school years and did not know how to use tenses properly. I know I could just delete it, and I've contemplated doing so many, many times but I have just left it up to remind myself of my... 'humble' origins shall I put it. So, however you want to put it, this story is a utter piece of trash and should not looked at, unless you want to feel the cringe of a ten year's old writing. If that is the case, good luck I guess. You are going to need it. Bitter and Cold (On Hiatus) So, I've been meaning to get to rewriting this for a while, and I guess that day is today. This... project, I guess it could be called, has been a thing I've been working on for a while now. It would be a lie to say I didn't ever expect it to get this big, or reach this length... but, it has. Whatever the case, let me tell you what this story is about, anyways. Fundamentally, it's a Gates to Infinity post-game , something generally not approached by most. However, unlike most other post-game stories of Gates to Infinity—you know, the few scattered on this site that barely anybody knows exist—it takes place right after the defeat of the Bittercold, and continues onward to the point where the pair was separated. I'm not going to say anything else as I'm not one to give spoilers out for my own story. All I can say is that I hope you enjoy what I have, and that I hope I manage to finish this thing, unlike the vast majority of the stories on this site ever are. Because as it stands, I'm starting to doubt it myself. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Retribution (On-going) Brief description, because the story doesn't have much posted yet and I don't want to give any impressions on things not established yet. The project, in comparison to the mixed trainer and PMD setting Bitter and Cold, is a story set purely in the PMD world. It follows the perspective of Robbie, who as the summary states, isn't exactly the most happy about where he has ended up. There's more I could say, but as there's only one chapter up for now, I'm going to avoid saying it. I hope you enjoy what is there for now, at the very least. Discord I removed this for a bit, for... a variety of reasons. Figured I'd bring it back up, though, for any writers who might want to pop on the PMD discord I've created which has somehow grown to be decently big. Server code is (/ZBCZwcT) Attach that to a discord URL and you should be good to go. I'd prefer to place a full link here, but uh... this site doesn't like that. Notice Board Currently Working On: Retribution Chapter 5 Revising: Retribution Chapter 2 I was two months late. Two months, in which I left this profile page in utter, desolate silence. But the story is finally up, after all of those delays. My main excuse lies in finals, but I'm guessing you don't care to hear about that, so I won't bother. In any case, I might as well say a few things about how I plan on operating from this point onward. For anyone following this since the days of Bitter and Cold, you'll see I've added a new section to the notice board, "revising." It stands for whatever chapter I'm currently preparing for upload, while the currently working on section now reflects what chapter is being written from the ground up at the time. The gap between those two numbers should, if I don't get lazy and post chapters that aren't ready for some stupid reason, get bigger as the buffer grows in size. Hopefully, this system will pan out, in comparison to the old "fresh out the pan" shit I did for Bitter and Cold. If it doesn't... well, we'll see how that goes when we get there. In any case, that's about all I have to say. I'm crossing my fingers that I can actually keep this profile page semi-active this time, but no promises. I hope you enjoy this piece I've spent one-third of a year getting prepared, and I'll be off for now. |
