Seventeen-year-old Lillian is a teenage runaway, having escaped her abusove mother whilst on holiday in Tuscany, Italy. She stumbles upon a safe-looking old town where she meets the Volturi leader Aro. Whilst Lillian has an intruiging gift she is dying to put to use by being turned and joining the Guard, creepy and over-friendly Aro has a much different plan for her future.
