Amity, Princess of Lexador, always believed she'd never become Queen, after all, she had six older brothers. However, after Prince Cary, the man wanting to be King of Lexador, orders a mass murder of her family, she is the only survivor left. King Arthur, the son of her late Father's best friend, takes her in, as she becomes, the King's Ward, but also in love with his manservant.

Merlin and his fellow sorcerers attack and capture Camelot. Morgause leaves it to Merlin to break the young captured Prince. At first Arthur feels only hatred for the sorcerer who stole his kingdom but soon begins to see a side to Merlin that he keeps very very closely hidden.

When Merlin discovers that his father was an estranged prince and he himself is now the only heir to the throne of a magical kingdom, he is forced to leave Camelot for the perils of a royal court. Will Merlin be able to win Arthur's favor again before Morgana launches an attack on a defenseless Camelot? Will he be able to defend his own kingdom at the same time or will all be lost?

The sequel to Sir Gwaine and the Liberation of the Slaves of Mercia. After Guinevere departed the dreadful tower in which held her captive, she must discover her own inner strength in order become the true once and future Queen of Camelot. Slightly AU
