The Sydney-based founders of the website www.localcraft.com.au realised that there was gap in the market in Australia for quality directories that catered specifically to micro-businesses, small artisan type stores and other creative one location, owner-operated businesses. They also decided that for such a directory to be of interest in the micro-business community it would also need quality lifestyle content. The Website went online this November 2016.

The founders of www.localcraft.com.au realised that on the user end, there too was a real need to create a website that specifically allows people to connect easily with local artisan and craftspersons type businesses in their local area. All the businesses listed are independently and locally owned. They also take enormous pride in creating beautiful things of high and enduring quality. Many of the business here also only use organic or natural products in their work. The website is itself Australian-owned AND based in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney.
