Set after "Born Into Bad News" - My take on what happens after Erin quits Intelligence and how the people around her react and try to save her from herself.

AU. Erin is a senior in college. After someone threatens Erin during a case, Voight assigns Jay to secretly go undercover as a college student and befriend his daughter as a means to protect her. Just don't let Erin find out. Jay doesn't think it'll be a problem - until the lines start to blur.

He cared. She wanted to hate him for it, for being that kind of guy, but she couldn't.

"So you're here alone?" she asked, but before he could answer, there was a knock on the door. "Jay! Someone's here for you!" he heard his dad call from the foyer. Confused, he walked out of the kitchen and was met with a familiar pair of hazel eyes.
