My first ever attempt at writing a fanfic was somewhere around 1998. I think. Gundam Wing was making the bootleg rounds on VHS and after watching a few episodes I read some stories online. I had my own idea for a short story and a little too much free time on my hands, (Boy, I sure miss those days!) so without seeing the entire series or doing much in the way of research, I wrote and posted "Duo's Deal". It was generally well received. I was encouraged enough that I followed it up with "Lions and Hyenas", another Gundam Wing story. I next tried my hand at Highlander with "Two Mules for Methos". (Oh, so bad. So very, very bad.) And then I found the Magnificent Seven and was just blown away by the awesome stories being posted. And the number of alternate universes was staggering. I couldn't resist. My first Magnificent Seven story was actually a kid fic, "Dreaming of Angels" followed by "If Wishes Were Horses". I followed those up with a fantasy universe story called the "Magnificent Quest" which to this day is my 'magnum opus'. I also wrote "Judging the Book" and a few others. The Magnificent Seven stories are located on under several different pen names: Barbretta Hayden, Justice DeWinter, Nettie Roe and Miz Nettie.

It has recently been pointed out to me that I have a habit of leaving my stories a little... open ended. Oh, there is definitely a conclusion, but there could also be a sequel. I will admit that I have this dream that one day I will write a fanfic that takes place in an alternate universe that is so inspiring that other authors will write stories picking up where I left off.
