Kurt Hummel had never really thought much about using endearments for people he knew, no one had ever made a big deal about it when he'd call them honey or boo, that's why it came as more of a surprise to him than it should have when the Dalton warblers reacted differently to him calling Blaine sweetie. It ends with surprising results.
