I hear the joy and relief whenever I talk about what happened.
I see everybody around me getting hurt.
I want to be free from this guilt that's eating me alive.

I pretend to be okay, through the good and the bad times.
I feel a rush of relief when I know that I'm not alone.
I touch all of my feelings, to know if I'm safe.
I worry that something like my past will happen again.
I cry every night, seeing the flashbacks that play through my mind before I fall asleep.

I understand that something like this happens all around the world, not just myself.
I say that each day i live, proves that I've survived most of the worst things that life has thrown at me.

I dream that one day, I can help victims that face the challenges that I've had to face these past few years.
I try to remember that what happened to myself is not my fault, and it'll heal over time.
I hope that one day, when victims come to me for help, I can share a part of my life, and let them know that they'll heal over time, and learn to let go of the past.
