A series of Fitz-Simmons drabbles. Romantic, platonic, past, present or future, whatever you guys want. In the face of failure and despite the tyranny of time, Fitz finally manages to bring Jemma home. She cannot speak. When at last he hears her cry out in her sleep, Fitz thinks he understands. As Fitz lies in a coma, Simmons tells Skye the complicated history of FitzSimmons. Only children when they met, they grew together, lives completely intertwined. Much to her dismay, Jemma Simmons has gone nearly a year without partaking in a certain activity. After a bottle of wine and a late night at work, she complains to her best friend and details all the ways in which her recent lack of sex is really screwing her over. Fitz and Simmons have a Valentine's Day tradition that involves heart-shaped cards and cheesy science pick-up lines. They're also a little bit too competitive about it.

Simmons' family are spending Christmas far from their cosy home in England with an Aunt that Jemma Simmons hates, so she accepts Fitz's invitation to spend the holiday in Scotland with his large, loud and traditional family. When she pulled away moments later, she had to remind herself how to breathe, and to try to forget about how perfect Fitz's lips felt against her own.

Fitz and Simmons argue, and then end up getting stuck in a lift. Cue tension in a small space that's getting warmer by the second. One-shot.

And she's grateful that whatever happened between Jemma and Fitz in the med pod, and whatever else has happened every day since, is repairable. She's grateful because she knows that whether it's tomorrow or a year from now, Fitz and Simmons will be FitzSimmons and she'll happily be their third wheel.
