Lauren Lake spent her early life as a Military brat, constantly being moved from place to place. Usually she didn't care when she had to leave again, she'd never had time to make any friends. MoS 'verse, set between a superhero being brought to his knees and a certain, fateful introduction. It would take months for Metropolis to return to normal, and while Superman is patient, Clark isn't quite THAT patient. Lois is either smitten or in denial, but regardless, a world-class reporter never stops asking questions.

When Superman suddenly can't handle common thugs, Batman immediately questions it. Deciding they should finally meet, he urges Commissioner Gordon to ask Superman's assistance in capturing Batman. Superman agrees to apprehend the fugitive Batman…but promptly vanishes. When he returns, there's something terribly wrong with him.

Lois Lane is the best reporter of her time. Or at least she would be making sure she was, if not for temporary set backs in the forms of inter-state diplomatic negotiations and pesky court orders. When her chief editor orders her to take some time off and babysit the newcomer, Lois will find a competitor, a friend and a love to defy her cynical soul in Clark Kent.
