Hello! I'm Mydnyte Houre, but feel free to call me Lily. That is not me in my avatar; perceptive people will see that it is a painting, and especially intelligent people might recognize it as Edouard Manet's "Olympia", which I consider one of the most incredible works of art in human history. Yes, I'm an art history nerd.

I haven't updated the personal part of my profile in a while, but as I'm posting a lot more regularly, I thought I should. Most of what I'm posting now is Criminal Minds, although Candied Tongue still exists (and you never know when something else from Harry Potter may pop out). As a college student with two majors and a thesis to write, updates are often irregular. I'm beginning to make myself adopt a more systematic method to make myself update more frequently, but as real life intrudes, there may be periods of time where updates become few and far between. If you're looking for information on the status of a particular story, look below.

I'm also a songwriter, as some of you may know. Follow the link above to my FictionPress.Com page to read those. I also compose accompaniment on the piano, but FictionPress just has my lyrics (which are my real passion).

I have nine main fics in progress. Four of them are actively being written (this does not include completed oneshots):

Long Shadows (Criminal Minds), a Hotch/Emily fic that (without giving away spoilers) concerns Ian Doyle. Featuring scenes from both past and present, I'm expecting this to be a long story totalling around 20-25 chapters. I've got most of it planned out, which I've never done for a story before, so hopefully this will go well. Chapter Five is up now- that was fast! Chapter Six should hopefully be up in October.

Candied Tongue (Harry Potter), my fic about Bellatrix and her past that I've been writing for a couple years and I have never gotten around to finishing. Goes from her last year of school to her imprisonment, and will end up being pretty dark once she graduates. This fic is my favourite child, and I promise you it will always be updated eventually. Sometime in 2011, I promise.

Quiet Bars and Painted Stars, (Criminal Minds), a Hotch/Emily oneshot inspired by the plot bunnies of Hotch being drunk and Paget Brewster's cringe-worthy Season Six haircut. Hotch tries to comment on it. Open mouth; insert foot. Hoping to have this up sometime in 2011.

Design and Construction (Inception), my first Inception fic. Not a fandom I expect to stick around in, but this just had to get written. Arthur/Ariadne twoshot (Two!?) in which he goes looking for her after the Fischer job. Because when things don't go according to plan, Arthur makes his angry face. First part coming this fall; second part is way on the back burner so it remains to be seen.

Five of my fics are on hiatus until I feel like updating. I'm feeling sadly uninspired:

Paper House (Criminal Minds), a series of short snapshots and glimpses into Emily's life in Rome and her friendships with Matthew and John. It'll get darker/more adult later, because there are obvious things (Demonology spoilers) that I have to cover. Chapter two is about half done, but it's going slowly.

All You Need Is Love (Criminal Minds), a series of short scenes tracing the development of Hotch and Emily's relationship, each inspired by a Beatles song (hence the shitty title). Will be slightly AU, and will not take the events of '100' into account. Hopefully this will go quickly, since the scenes will be quite short.

We're All Mad Here (Harry Potter), a oneshot from Bellatrix's point of view in the early days of her stay in Azkaban. In prose style it's someone similar to Hematolagnia (if you've read that) in that the mind of the narrator is disorganized, emotional, and abstract. Hopefully this will be up eventually?

No Title Yet (not actual title) (Criminal Minds), a oneshot requested by romiross in which Hotch sees John Cooley as competition for Emily's affections, and decides to do something about it. John will, as promised, not be a jerk in this fic.

No Title Yet (not actual title) (NCIS), which is a very abstract set of musings on the parts of Tony and Ziva about all the reasons they wish they could break Rule 12, and all the reasons they never will. More of an embryo than anything else at this point, but I'm slowly adding to it and it'll show up here eventually.

Anything on my profile that I haven't mentioned above is either a completed oneshot, or dead (and will not be updated). Sorry if that breaks any hearts.

At any rate, I hope you enjoy my stories. Please read and review if you like them! One of my pet peeves is seeing lots of hits on stories and no reviews. It's common courtesy, and I try to review whenever I think the author needs it or really requests it in earnest. I'm requesting in earnest, and I sure as hell need it because I am not perfect.
