Opinions on Fics:

Inuyasha

I started out really liking Inuyasha/Kagome stories but as time progressed, I fell in love with Sesshoumaru and GROWN UP Rin stories. For anyone interested, Innocent Beginnings by Maggz is on AFF and was the one that totally changed by view of Sess/Rin, and Seducing Sesshoumaru and Suddenly Daddy(which is a Iy/Kag fic with Sess/Rin on the side) by animechick262003 are on MM.org. Regretfully, In A Different Light by theMaven was deleted by FF.net and I can't find it anywhere online now. Also, kuronekosama has some great Sess/Rin fics as well that are not on FF.net. SESSHOUMARU and KAGOME just plain don't make sense to me.

Harry Potter

I started out reading Lily/James fics. And well written ones of these are still quite enjoyable. I just hate when they end up dying at the end of the fanfic though.

Harry-centric fics are good. I am completely against Harry/Ginny pairing - something about it just annoys me. I think there's one good H/G fic in my favorites and I'm pretty sure that's the only one I've ever been able to stand reading. Slashy fics are ok, but I'm probably in the minority of people read HP slash. I really dislike Severus/Harry and Draco/Harry. They're overdone and I never liked those pairings to begin with. I personally prefer HP fics without a pairing and just about Harry developing as a person and as a stronger wizard.

Views on Slash

If the writing is good and the plot is captivating, I'm more than happy to read them. And some yaoi couples are just plain cute.

January 11, 2013 UPDATE:

I am a procrastinator who gets hit with the occasional inspiration to actually update. So updates will be pretty slow. That, and it's been several years since most of my stories have been updated (and I don't quite remember all that I had planned for them). But here are the stats so far:

Reaction Mechanism: COMPLETED. Series of one-shots featuring genius college professor Sesshoumaru and his undergraduate lab intern Rin. Each chapter will be set for a specific holiday.

The last chapter is a very different tone. I wanted to wrap the thing up because a lot of my ideas for the scenes in the story are based on my time in undergrad and I've since...well...aged.

His Most Precious Girl: Short (10 chapter) story about Sesshoumaru and Rin who grew up together, grew apart, and are learning to appreciate each other again. Well, at least Sesshoumaru is, Rin doesn't need to learn again! Releases irregular. It has been bugging me for a long time how in manga and anime, usually the smart/rich/sporty guys ends up with the dumb/incompetent girl. This is a take on the evil/perfect rival's point of view--when said sophisticated, accomplished, under-appreciated rival FINALLY ends up with the guy.

I still find this story's plot really interesting but also find it a little hard to write. Depending on my mood, I'll update.

Strategem 31: What happens when Sesshoumaru attempts to groom Rin into the perfect consort? Who exactly is Rin?

I remember the main gist of this story and do like the fantasy setting. But with other stories that I like on the plate, chances of this getting updated soon are pretty low.

Blue Moon Winery: a (hopefully) shorter, fluffier, and lighter story about Rin, who is the owner of a winery in Canada, and Sesshoumaru, who is the heir of Tainu Airlines and Cuises and is at Rin's winery trying to get permission to cater her wine on his cruise liners. However, once he sets eyes on Rin, Sesshoumaru sets out to land more than just a bussiness agreement. Unfortunately for him, Rin was his ex-wife and Sesshoumaru, being the arrogrant prat he is, didn't even know she existed before.

First chapter written. Projected 10 chapters. Set in Penticton, BC--go visit sometime, it's a wonderful place for a summer holiday.

Sesshoumaru's Smile: This is a fic I started after Christmas around seven years ago. It is completely finished on paper and features Sesshoumaru, who is the president and owner of the most successful fashion design and modelling company in Japan and who was the demon lord of the west five hundred years ago, and the reincarnation of Rin who is an assasin sent by Naraku to kill Sesshoumaru. Cliche, I know but I love it anyhow.

On hiatus until I find the written chapters. Grr...should've just typed it out to begin with!

For the Ice King in Full Blossom: As promised, my Hana-Kimi based Sessh/Rin fic. Posting began during Winter Olympics 2010. This is now my top priority.

Reason for the long pause between 2010 and now? Plushenko did the really embarrassing platinum medal thing. As a Plushenko fan, I was pretty disappointed in his leap onto the podium. I was, and still am, disappointed in the male figure skating scene after Plushenko's the 2010 Olympics. I really like watching Russian figure skating - there's just something about their style that I like and I don't see in American, Japanese, or Canadian figure skating. Well, don't see yet. But I can't get myself to support the newer Russian skaters and even though Plushenko's back, I feel like his skating isn't what it used to be. Sorry, but I needed to rant.
