Hello, everyone! Welcome to my page. It's not very interesting, but that's probably because I'm not a particularly interesting member. I don't write a lot of fanfiction. Usually I write normal fiction, but when that's not working for me I steal other people's characters and write about them. Currently my normal fiction is being frustrating, so you may see more from me in the future.

I suppose fanfiction is a good way to practice writing normal fiction: the characters and universe are already established, and your only job is to add to it. It really takes away the pressure of characterization and story development in general, allowing you to focus on different aspects of writing fiction. Things like continuity, keeping people in-character, general writing skill, etc. This isn't to say that writing normal fiction doesn't do that; it's just saying that fanfiction is good for practicing those things specifically.

Personally, I believe fanfiction's purpose is to express your opinion and interpretation of a certain work. It should try and be consistent with canon and stay realistic to the story universe. Plus, it's an awesome starting place for aspiring writers!

Note: I'm not going to list everything I've worked on here, as it's utterly pointless: it lists them right below my profile. I don't know why people do that. Seems like a lot of work for nothing.
