After a drunken tryst with Nicholas Wilde, Judy Hopps reacts badly, breaking the poor foxes heart. Some time later Nick meets Jack Savage and is confronted by an attraction he didn't expect. As Nick finds himself in the beginnings of a relationship with Jack, Judy gets jealous and finally realizes she is an idiot (and also the worst). Now she must try and win Nick back.

Nick finds himself deciding to work with agent Jack Savage in a new unit that specializes in undercover infiltration and information gathering. But the fox soon finds out that this decision will change the course of his life along a different path then expected, a path filled with both tragedy as well as love.

Judy convinces Nick to spend their vacation with her family at the Bunny Burrows, where they would enjoy the anual Carrot Festival and she would confess to her feelings and get closer to him. However her father's new farmhand, a human, may end up disturbing her plans.
