Hey.

I'm the writer, call me Yin.

I live in Australia, in a wonderful city where the phrase 'four seasons in one day' is actually accurate.

I'm an asexual non-binary person, and use they/them/theirs pronouns.

The sum of all this means that my fic is an exploration. Of humanity, human behaviour and of possibilities. I learn through reading and writing fic, so I have many ideas and fully fledged stories with characters that are part of minority groups - identities, orientations, races, religious ideologies/practices, mental health, physicality etc.

In most cases, I do not have intimate knowledge of the circumstances my characters are in, I am learning as they are. But I will do my best to as respectful as I can. (See my notes on Never Alone, formerly Schizophrenic Genius, as to one glaringly obvious occasion where I was previously not so respectful, and why that story is currently in stasis.) The beliefs of the characters I write do not always line up with my own. My goal is create characters that are as rich and diversely complex as the humans that inhabit this planet alongside me, whether or not I would personally agree with their choices should those choice be present outside of fiction.

Some of my fic is posted there, particularly oneshots and shorts, as well as links to new chapters (generally the AO3 post). And I talk about stuff to do with what I'm currently writing, so it's a good place to get a feel for how soon the next update will be.

I also try to post a rec each day (even if consistency is not my friend) so you should check that out, maybe you'll find something you like. Fair warning though, I read a really bizarre mix of fandoms, tropes, pairings, AU's etc.

Just a couple of things:

Blanket permission for transformations of any kind, just send a link if you can so I can squee (and blush) over it. If it's a work I collaborated on please get permission from the other creators as well (feel free to msg me and I'll pass the msg along).

And, my work is largely un-beta'd/edited by anyone other than me. So if anyone wants to beta, look over, cheerlead, get new chapters early, discuss etc. msg me and I will give you all the things! Also very happy to return the favour.

This is a HEADS UP about my writing:

I write sporadically. I have come to the conclusion that it is better to be writing something, than nothing in a misguided attempt to 'focus' on a select number of stories. I also tend to do most of my writing during the spring/summer (Southern Hemisphere, so Nov-Mar for you northerners).

My writing generally has two phases. The Initial Writing phase, and the Edit Sweep phase.

In the Initial Writing phase, you will receive chapters as soon as they're written and have been proofread. This is the first time these scenes are put to paper - digital or not. In this stage I have a minimum 1k word limit for chapters (this goes for my currently in progress works doesn't hold for oneshots/shorts, and some of my newer ventures).

In the Edit Sweep phase, the story (or component arc/part/section) is looked at as a whole. New chapter break lines will be drawn and the overarching concepts and narrative flow will become the focus of the editing. In Symbiote, for example, it has been noted by many of the readers that the chapter breaking felt like the first few chapters should have been one - in actual fact, when this fic enters the Edit Sweep phase for Arc 1 chapters 1-3 will be combined into one.

The Black Widow King: this fic was last updated December of 2014 - it's also on AO3 and tumblr.

THIS FIC IS IN STASIS

Okay, so this fic decided it wanted to try and go in about 5 different directions at once. Also, a lot of semi conflicting backstory and world-building. But! I have contracted a beta (Dasewiggewitter) who is helping me slog through it all, never fear it will continue. Even if it's a while until the next chapter update. (29-01-2015)

Draemon: this fic was last updated March of 2016 - it's also on AO3.

This has been - for most of the previously existing scenes - rewritten, to a much higher and more in depth standard than it was before. We've again hit the point of 'I vaguely know what scene is coming next...' so update will be my usual kind of slow. (25-03-16)

Edward, of another name: this fic was last updated November of 2015 - it's also on AO3 and tumblr.

The Face You Forgot: this fic was last updated March of 2016 - it's also on AO3.

This is just something I've had on my harddrive for a while, finally got to polishing it up to post. It really should lead on to another few chapters, but we'll see how quickly those come. (16-03-16)

Finding Our Way: this fic was last updated January of 2016 - it's also on AO3.

There have been a few reviewers, both here and on the archive that have expressed an interest in seeing more of this fic. While I don't have a specific storyline plotted out, I feel quite strongly about the original idea - that of a platonic d/s relationship between Harry and Ron. I definitely want to continue this fic and I have the beginnings of a rough outline in my head at the moment. (10-12-14)

Fire and Ice: this fic was last updated December of 2012 - only chapter 1 is on AO3.

This story, while a bit of a personal favourite of mine, particularly at the time I originally wrote it, hasn't garnered much attention from my readers. I probably will continue this, at least as much as posting chapters 2 and 3 to AO3, and editing them in the process. (10-12-14)

Hair Back, Collar Up, Jet Black, So Cool: this fic was last updated February of 2015 - it's also on AO3 and tumblr.

This happened because I really wanted nonbinary Haruhi - because that show could do it so well! Then I was listening to MCR/Frank Iero, and it morphed into nb, punk Haruhi. (16-02-2015)

Yes, I know. Another Black Jewels fic, I just really love this fandom. This fic could potentially run the entire length of canon, I don't know yet. What I've posted is all that currently written. I probably will keep the canon main pairing, largely because I'm pretty sure part of my initial idea was wanting to work out how Daemon would react - I have plans. (19-10-15)

I have started on chapter 2, and I also did a quick sketch of Jace - with his hair back to short again - which you can find on my tumblr. (27-03-16)

The Joker Series: this series was last updated July of 2016 - it's also on AO3.

So far, only Malachite Joker is up here, but at the moment I have the outlines for 9 stories in total. Some with be pure Joker Game, others HP/JG crossovers like Malachite. I'm working on Origin Joker and Ebony Joker at the moment, and there's a bit of buffer on Malachite, so there should be new stuff up soon. (13-06-16)

Origin Joker is up! The series is ordered chronologically, but with the backstory fics it doesn't particularly matter because they all stand alone. (14-06-16)

I'm working on some more material for Origin. About a third the way through the rest of it, at the moment, so there should be some more stuff up soon. (26-06-16)

Origin Joker is now complete! First for this series, and also my first completed multi chapter fic. (I am super pleased). The next priority for this series is getting Ebony Joker up - Severus' backstory - and Civilian Joker - the backstory for the D-boys individually and collectively. (27-07-16)

Never Alone (formerly: Schizophrenic Genius): this fic was last updated August of 2012.

THIS FIC IS IN STASIS

At this point there isn't a new chapter in progress, this is because my writing style and approach to writing has changed vastly over the last two years. When I originally got this idea, it was very idealistic and I was fine with that. I wasn't planning to research Schizophrenia or Multiple Personality Disorder, because I wasn't looking to create a 'true-to-life' representation. I was also using 'The Schizophrenic Genius' as a title because I really liked it, not because it necessarily really fit the story. At my current point I don't still hold those views. If/when I continue this story I would want to do more research into the conditions my characters have and properly work out how magic effects them. I would also likely heavily edit the existing chapters, as my writing has vastly improved. (10-12-14)

I have changed the name for this story because I now feel extremely uncomfortable using the term Schizophrenic when I know very little about the condition. I've recently started working on a radio program about youth mental health and it's become very clear to me that I want to do my research for this fic. It's quite likely that this fic will move in a different direction after I edit it. Certainly, I may not use the terms Schizophrenia or MPD to describe Harry's condition, as I don't want to misrepresent the people who do have those conditions. As I have noted in the story's summary, please consider it to be on PERMANENT HIATUS. I don't mind at all if other people want to have a go at writing something based off the concept, I'd quite like to see your interpretations. (07-02-2015)

Okay so the permanent hiatus may not be so permanent... I got a review from percab8531 that got me to read over what I'd written for this fic, I'm still going to give it a thorough working over. But there may be some activity for this soonish. (23-05-15)

The Nameless Anthology: this fic series was last updated June of 2015 - it's also on AO3 (with podfic).

This a series of shorts based on poems. So far, The Raven by E. A Poe, and The Jabberwock by L. Carrol. As part of my final media project last year I made podfic of both of them, which can be found on AO3 here: . I may or may not write more similar shorts. I definitely plan to finish editing and formatting the podfic properly - a task I keep dragging out... (10-11-15)

I have a future chapter already written for this fic, it really needs editing but there is a point that I'm working toward in the plot. This isn't currently a priority fic, but I do want to finish it eventually. (10-12-14)

Snape and Tepes Industries: this fic was last updated March of 2016 - it's also on AO3.

This story is another personal favourite, it's a total crack!fic that I really want to continue. At the very least I will edit the chapters and post the remaining up on AO3. I want to rework the current ending, this project was originally for school and as such had deadlines and the expectation of a semi finished work, so I kind of forced a stopping point. (10-12-14)

I did it. I've actually started. Chapter one has been edited and is now up. I've chosen to delete all the other chapters that were up here, because like when I started on Draemon, I'm changing things. Mostly it's just where chapters end, but still, I'd rather not create a jerky reading experience. (20-03-16)

Okay, as much as I may have wanted to get a bunch more chapters out, and continue the momentum I had... Most of chapter four got written, then I got stuck. sigh. Anyway, thank you LoganAlexander for your review, even if it confused the heck out of me, it got me to write the last bit of the chapter. (20-01-15)

I've posted the side story to AO3 (and created a series for the Symbiote 'verse) set prior to the main story, that follows Regulus from his 'death' betraying the Dark Lord onwards. You can find it here: At this point there's only one chapter, if it expands out into a fully fledged story I might migrate it over here as well, but at the moment any related side stories/shorts will be added to the AO3 series. I've reached the end of Arc 1! Now I need to proof it as a full thing, and post up the longer chapters. It'll probably be a bit until the next 'new material' chapter, because I want to spend some time properly working out arc 2. (01-06-16)

Tied Up With String: this fic was last updated March of 2016 - it's also on AO3.

I've been working on this for over a year, it started of as the flash of scene, with Harry in Sasebo with Jun and Yurika near the end of the anime. So I've been backtracking, filling in and out scenes. What's up at the moment is chapter one of the first 'scene' - the meeting between Harry and Junichi. Because this is coming together nonlinearly, I don't know how soon I'll have enough material for the next chapter. As I've mentioned, this might become a series - in which case it's likely that I'll stick a link to the AO3 posting up here, and do the chronology fiddling over there, before cross-posting it over here.
