The World in "A Serene Selection" (Forms and Rules are at the bottom)

Most of the world is the same with added fantasy elements. Illea is still Illea, technology still exists such as TV, smartphones. Magic also exists in many forms such as magecraft, witchcraft etc. All magic laws is regulated by a council of Mages.

Due to Princess Serenity's ancestors indecisiveness finding a spouse for a royal is done one of two way (compensating some 30 guys with ridiculous amounts of money wasn't a good idea)

A tournament: A selection on fast forward. A single candidate is chosen from each province and is tested in various test of physical, mental and emotional capacity. Then are taken on a date by the royal. If the date goes well they move on, if not they are immediately eliminated. This continues until there is one remaining candidate. King Georgios selection consisted of mostly Elves and Human candidates thus causing tension between the people of Illea and The Royal family

A Selection: Your standard selection, the only change is that guys are compensated monthly and when they are dismissed. The People of Illea are still iffy on the selection.

Races: Illea is a melting pot and thus has various races of people include

Humans: Your standard humans, while they don't possess any special ability they are the most magically capable. They can learn nearly any magic and their potential is high. Most humans learn some magic in school but also aim for mundane jobs. Humans who aim for more magical jobs include: Mages (Public or private service), Defense against The Dark Arts (We keep losing those), Clerics, Alchemist, etc.
Average Life Span: 100 Years

Divine Entities: These are, lesser angels, children of angel and the children of demigods. Lesser angels are you standard angels with wings. Halos are optional and occasionally worn as some kind of jewelry. They were either kicked out of heaven or stay on Earth of their own free will. Children of angels are officially called Nephilim most inherit wings from their holy parent flight ability varies. Occasionally they are born with white, silver or gold colored hair. Demigods are the children of a god, born Virgin Mary-style. Until their powers manifest(Usually around 10) they don't really know which god is their parent as every Pantheon exists. The only surefire way to know is to take an ancestry test. Most demigods have similar powers to their divine parents but never near their power level. The only goddess every seen was Persephone.
Average Life Span
- Angels: 1000 years (presumed to turn into Seraph)
- Nephilim: 100-300 Years
- Demigods: 300-600 Years

Fairies: Guardians of the forest, most fairies live in more rural areas and vary in size from the size of wasp to human sized. They are skilled in elemental magic and nature-related magic. Some have wings, some don't. They tend to live in communities and are most active when the seasons change. Children of fairies are rare but possible. They are highly respect as oracles, apothecaries and spiritual healers.
Average Life Span: 250 Years

Elves: Your typical elves. High Elves, Wood Elves, Dark Elves all fall under this category, next to humans they are the most magically capable. It is commonly believed that they are closely related to humans. Most elves go for magical jobs but some occasionally work ordinary jobs usually within a Elven community.

-High Elves: 100-200 years
-Wood Elves: 125-175 years
-Dark Elves: 170- 200 years

Dwarves: Standard Dwarves, what they lack in magical ability the make up for in resistance. They are high resistant against magic and heat, most men grown beards young and while the older generation let their grown big and bushy the younger generation tend to keep theirs trimmed. A common stereotype is that all dwarves work with metal. This isn't entirely false a good portion of dwarves do work with metal but many are seeking other options. Most dwarves are given a gemstone as a coming-of-age gift.
Average Life Span: 100-175

Lycans: These include but are not limited werewolves and kitsune, kimiho and tanukis. Humans that can turn into animals and perform certain types of magic. They are commonly thought to be tricksters due to their specific kind of magic. All Lycan can transform at will with the except of pure blood werewolves who transform when the moon is out. Werewolves strength shift with the phases of the moons. Kistune and Tanuki have a specific magic that allow them to turn leaves into objects, whether they stay as objects or not is up to the person who transformed it, all object created by this magic is flammable. Both also have the ability to create illusions. Lycans usually comes with the tail of the animals they transform in and usually style their hair to mimic animal ears.

Werewolves: 100-155 Years
Kitsune: 200-1000 Years
Tanuki: 200-1000 Years

Vampires: Horrible undead abominations are used to describe these people of the night. While they do drink blood most get their blood from blood bank or drink cattle blood. Vampires are usually pale, black hair. Their magic is mostly limited to shape shifting (usually to bats) and the illegal hemomancy (Blood magic) Vampires burn in the sun and mostly stay indoors during the day. Due to this most vampires living in urban area with a lively nightlife or in communities where everything is open at night. Half-vampires don't burn but they tend to get sunburn really easily. Many younger generation vampires are able to suppress their appetite for blood and some even detest it. Most pureblood vampires live to about 700 years old then turn to dust. Half blood vampires age normally but look younger than their actual age.

2) If you want to create an oc that is not one of the fantasy races listed above please ask me before you submit them.

3) Please Title your submission as “A Serene Selection: [Your Character Name]” this just makes it easier to keep track of characters when picking characters

4) For the sake of my sanity if you are going to create a half oc please keep it half-human.

5) If your OC has powers, please try to limit them to powers that your chosen race has. So if your character is a human mage and he can create items out of leaves (Something that usually only Kitsune and Tanuki can do) I might ask you to change their powers.

6) To prevent too many of one race I am capping certain races at 4 the only exception being humans and divine beings, being capped at 5 (Half-human characters are counted as their non-human parent) The number of spots remaining for a certain race will be on my profile.
