Jak has been captured and is being used in Praxis' experiments. The torture is unbearable, but his captors are disappointed when they discover that he can't scream. They decide to repair his damaged voice 'in exchange' for using him in their experiments.

When Keira first arrives in Haven City, she is scared, lost, lonely and hurt. Luckily, the commander of the Krimzon Guard is more than happy to help her back on her feet. Erol/Keira, set during Jak II.

There was a harsh, scraping sound of claws over concrete. Hulking shadows clambered over the wreckage, drool dripping into the mud from their sharp fangs. Grunting, Erol cocked his gun. "If we survive," he said over his shoulder, "I'm still going to shoot you." "Likewise," Jak growled, trying to find some purchase in the slippery ground. (No ships, but lotsa brotherly devotion.)
