Hi! I mostly created this account to bookmark random stuff.

Books I can remember I read and liked, some from a pretty long time ago: Artemis Fowl (series), Percy Jackson (series), The Girl of Fire and Thorns (series), Harry Potter, The Last Unicorn (despite the cheesy title, it's amazing), The Book Thief, Unwind (series), Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, any fiction by Bradbury, Ender's Game, On the Jellicoe Road, Station Eleven, anything by John Green, the Chronicles of Narnia, Peter Pan (even the related Starcatchers series), Catch 22, The Mysterious Benedict Society (series), and more.

Books I want to read, or probably should: The Handmaid's Tale, Oryx and Crake (and more of Atwood's books since I enjoyed her poetry so much), the Tillerman Cycle (started that series a long time ago, but the library doesn't have all the books), I Am the Messenger. Too many to list.

Books I have the pleasure of disliking: Twilight series, Matched series. I like main characters who, I don't know, aren't boring and stupid (unless this is intentional).

Although school makes it difficult to stay with full-length books, I do enjoy short stories. Hence this account.

I think my interests could mostly be classified as science/speculative fiction (and maybe a little bit of horror and humor), but I have favorite books scattered across all genres. Feel free to recommend a book or story you really really enjoyed; I always like suggestions. It just might take me a while to get to them.

Other than reading, I also like gardening, fiddling with HTML, biology, and swimming. And pasta.

CurrentlyJust thinking. About Heroes of Olympus. (I'm a few years late on this...) It got wrapped up in a hurry of a happy ending, and even though it was sweet and everything, I didn't entirely buy the whole "everyone is now good in perfect couplehood" sappiness. And what I maybe most took issue with was Leo and Calypso getting together with no problems at all, because I'm biased and Leo is one of my favorite characters and it felt cheap. Calypso's the daughter of Atlas; she used to be immortal; she was cursed to fall in love with whatever hero ended up on her island—including Leo. She's off the island and just decides to be a "normal" teenager again with no catch to it at all. It's cute. But honestly I was hoping for a little more drama to it, for her to leave because she doesn't want to give up her immortality, maybe, though I guess that would mean too much time to spend developing Leo's character instead of just blasting him with people who reject him without a second thought. (Meanwhile Reyna putters around like an empty plot device. I'm totally a Reyna/Leo shipper. It still hurts.)
