Sarah had defeated the labyrinth and its king. Jareth needed to suffer the consequences: loss of magic, title and kingdom, he is banished to the Human world to be a servant to the champion. But he does not look like himself and cannot tell her who he is. He has twenty years to win her and his Fae existence or fail and lose his life. Started as a one-shot but is growing into more.
