![]() The name's Janie, but I go by Ponygirl. Some call me Ponanie, a mixture of Ponyboy and Janie, if it's not obvious. I love to read and write, rather it's a fanfiction or another book. The Outsiders is my life. I've written stories about them, read stories about them, watched the movie, read the book, ordered shirts and other merchandise concerning The Outsiders, including a cutout of Ponyboy and Johnny. I roleplay some Outsiders characters and some might know me as PinkPony, but if you don't RP, you probably don't know what that even means. Anyway, you can give me ideas and I'll write about them. If you have suggestions, I'll think about them. Please read and review my stories, if ya like. Well, now onto some pointless information about my opinions on The Outsiders... Before that, one quick side note. I do not write stories for anyone anymore, I haven't found any time to do so. I apologize. My favorite characters in order(also why they're my heroes): Darrel Shaynne Curtis Jr. -He works so hard to support his brothers and keep them in line. He loves them even if he doesn't know how to show it. He's stronger than anyone, not just physically, but mentally too. He's always there for his brothers and has to stay strong for them, that's why he doesn't show much emotion. He's my hero, for many other reasons besides the fact that he's very good-looking. He's like an adult, taking care of teenagers, even though he's not even a real adult. He's only 20, smart, cool, and handsome. Steve Randle -Steve works at a gas station full time, hangs with his best friend, and has a rough life. Maybe not as rough as others, but his super good-looks and attitude are amazing in my book. I love it when he's a jerk to Ponyboy, just because I know he loves the kid, but doesn't wanna show it. He's amazing with cars, which would always come in handy when you have to ride around with Sodapop, who's reckless and fun. Steve's always there for his friends and is very cocky, which is super hot. He hates his father and his relationship with him is interesting, how his dad just pays when he comes home after being kicked out. He's another one of my heroes, for being strong in an emotional way, kinda like Darry. He's the only one in the movie who doesn't cry and I admire that about him. Ponyboy Michael Curtis -What's not to love about Ponyboy? He's smart and stays outta trouble as much as possible, except...trouble seems to find Ponyboy. He doesn't go looking for it, but it just happens to him. Sure he may not have a lick of common sense, but he's intelligent book-wise. He's a dreamer, an emotional kid, who's been through too much in his 14 years of living. With Darry always trying to make him better and Sodapop trying to convince him the opposite of what Darry shows, it's no wonder he's confused. He isn't a ladies man to most, he doesn't dig them just quite yet and for a 14 year old boy, that's amazingly mature. It's odd how he's mature in some ways, but he's so innocent. He's another hero of mine for many reasons. He loves track, same as me, reading, writing too. Another thing about him is when he goes out for jogs and such. He's a runner...But he has things to run from... Sodapop Patrick Curtis -Other than his extreme good looks, he's real kind and wise, like Pony said. He understands almost everyone and is a peacemaker. He loves his brothers more than anything in the world and his kind to ladies, even if he is a ladies man and isn't too innocent, if ya know what I mean. He loved Sandy and was going to own up to the fact that he might have gotten her pregnant, even though it turns out he didn't, and take care of the kid even though it wasn't his. He's dumb school-wise, being a drop-out and all, but when it comes to life, he's got optimism flowing out of his pores. He's happy-go-lucky and always grinning, making everyone around him happier. He tries to stay strong for the gang and his brothers, because he knows what reality is, but it just doesn't set it as quick as it does others. He's one of my heroes for just being Soda. He's a good guy, hyper, and reckless he may be, but he's different from most guys. Dallas Winston -Dally often hides the pain of life from everyone around him. He doesn't just stick with his gang either. He hangs with various girls and gangs. Growing up on the mean streets of New York, he's tougher than nails, and acts like he doesn't care about anyone or anything. He has nothing but pain built up inside him and he knows it too, deep down, he really does realize that it's killing him, but he'll never admit it. When Johnny dies, he loses a friend, a brother, a gang member, and everything he ever loved. He goes off the deep end, not being able to take anymore suffering. Dallas cared more than anyone I know and that's the reason for him being my hero. Johnny Cade -Johnny has it awful rough at home and it shows rather he wants it to or not. Going through all that physical pain and then having to live in the cruel world makes it even more awful. He's small for his age and he knows it and hates it. He's afraid. Just plain afraid. Afraid of life, death, and everything in between. The kid never had a chance, sad to say. Death worked out for him in some ways...He would've been crippled otherwise and that would have made his life 20x worse. You can't help but to feel sad for Johnny. He was a good kid, but who would think a Grease would be a good kid? Other than a fellow Greaser of course. He is a hero of mine for various reasons. He's cute, caring, and he looks up to Dallas. Of all people, Dallas. Johnny's quiet and a bit mysterious, being so young in a cruel world, which pretty much hates him...He's strong, not as strong as others, but he's got some strength, but it wasn't enough. Keith "Two-Bit" Mathews -He's funny, charming, and all around tuff. He can make anyone laugh, even on the darkest of days. You have to admire him for his sense of humor and way of life. He has it a bit better than the other guys in his gang, in my opinion, but he'll always stick with his gang, no matter what. You mess with the gang, you mess with him. He's afraid sometimes too, then again, aren't they all? It's sad when he isn't grinning or laughing, because then you know something is drastically wrong. He uses beer as an escape some would say, which may be true, but he's got to do something. He doesn't work, he doesn't really go to school much. He goes enough to see his friends and protect them from the Socs, if you think about it. He's a good thief, he'd steal anything for his gang if they needed it. He's loving, and he's another hero of mine just for being him. He's got a way of life, like no other. Always playing around, joking, laughing, and smiling. |
