I've been here for over 5 years now, and I've seen it all. The Great Animorphs Author War, the birth of the Mary-Sue era, the Harry Potter Author Fic thing ((which, I might add, was a complete rip-off of the Animorphs Self-Insertion era)), the advent of Pokémorphs ((anthropomorphic Pokémon)), and just recently, the rebirth of Animorphs humorfics. Since then, my tastes have changed. I used to love humorfics. Now I prefer fics with new characters, as well as crossovers. Speaking of crossovers, the Pokémon/Digimon category in the Misc. section was suggested by me. It's all my fault, and I'm glad it exists. Anyway... Back to the reason I finally registered here. It's time for a new spin on Animorphs. I haven't actually written anything yet, but I have lots of ideas for a massive rewrite and continuation of the series starting from #45. Once I come up with more ideas, I'll update my profile to reflect that. ((For this series, Edriss is Visser Three and Esplin is Visser One. Edriss' host body is Alloran, and Esplin's is Eva.)) IDEAS: #45: Same as in the book except for the Zero-Space thing with Marco and his dad, but since Visser Three isn't a megalomaniac, the finale arc doesn't begin. As for plot, Alloran is freed after Esplin is killed, but he doesn't join the Animorphs. #46: Jake, Rachel, Cassie and Tobias try to free the Chapmans and are successful. However, Melissa witnesses her former best friend Rachel demorphing, and the Animorphs end up making her the eighth Animorph, since Alloran has decided to join them. In this book, Ax FINALLY listens to Jake and doesn't call him Prince. Since Alloran is actually War-Prince Alloran-Semitur-Corrass, Ax now calls Alloran his prince. Unfortunately, thanks to a joke by Marco, Ax starts calling Jake "The Animorph Formerly Known as Prince Jake"... #47: Being a Trekker, I kept most of this book intact. I did get rid of the Civil War flashbacks, though, and replaced them with actual plot. Instead of a whole bunch of Trekkies camping, though, it's only two brothers and their father hiking in the forest near Cassie's barn. The three get lost, and split up. The father finds his way out, as do the brothers, or so they think. Actually, they've found their way to the Hork-Bajir Valley. In the end, they're made Animorphs, bringing the total of Animorphs to 10. #48, 49, 51-56: At #48, two storylines develop. 48: David returns, but with morphing powers, thanks to Crayak. 49: The Ellimist, Rachel, Jake and Ax try to convert David back to the good side. 51-54: With Cassie, Marco and Tobias' "Animorph Army" underway, Melissa and Alloran start trying to convert David. 55: With the "Animorph Army" plan completed, and their ranks up to 40, all of the Animorphs now concentrate on making David a good guy. 56: David finally cracks under the pressure, and re-joins the Animorphs, giving them 41 members. At the end of the book, human sattelite dishes are picking up signals from alien spaceships headed toward the Animorphs' town. #50: While Rachel, Jake and Ax deal with David, Cassie, Marco and Tobias set out on making a "Animorph Army". #57 ((tentative title: The Dragons)): As the 41 Animorphs are getting ready for finals, the alien spaceship lands next to Cassie's barn, just as a meeting is going on. Only Tobias notices ten female bipedal alien dragons exiting the spacecraft. He's also the only one to notice that Cassie has started to morph uncontrollably. The leader of the females, Skylornath Darkflame, meets up with Jake and Marco later on at the mall, while she's in human form. Tobias is also there, and senses that something's not right about her. #58 ((tentative title: The Problem)): The other nine dragons are introduced here, and they're all related to each other, which Tobias discovers when he hears Skynernath call the leader, Skylornath, her sister. Jake decides to introduce Skylornath in human form to the others, and as soon as Skylor and Cassie see each other, Cassie morphs skunk for no reason. No one knows why this happened... Except for Tobias. #59 ((tentative title: The Alliance)): After Tobias reveals to the Animorphs that Jake's new friend is actually a bipedal alien dragon, Jake decides to pay the sisters a visit. This time, Cassie morphs straight from wolf to osprey, then to roach, again for no reason. When the 50 meet for the first time, Ax and Alloran realize that the sisters are Draconissean Hybrid Dragons, the most technologically advanced species in the universe. The sisters agree to join the Animorphs, as long as Jake is no longer the leader. A massive fight almost erupts, until Alloran points out that Draconisseans are also extremely strong. In the end, Rachel becomes the new leader of the Animorphs. ((Beginning with #60, the narrator chain is totally revamped so all 50 Animorphs narrate books)) The only idea I have at this time past #59 is this: #83 ((tentative title: The Darkflames)): Cassie has been morphing uncontrollably so much due to the Draconisseans that her body has been changing inside and out. She doesn't realize it, but she's actually half Draconissean Hybrid Dragon. Skylor abd Skyber know this, and also know it's only a matter of time before she starts to change. One day in gym class, Cassie suddenly scores a basket FROM MIDCOURT. In Math class, during a test involving Pi, Cassie accidently figures out Pi to the 7,193rd decimal place. During a meeting with the original eight Animorphs ((the original six, David and Alloran)), Cassie sneezes... and sets the barn on fire. |
