![]() Author has written 25 stories for Legend of the Seeker, and Game of Thrones. I'm very new to writing fanfiction, or any kind of fiction, for that matter, as I only wrote my first drabble late in 2010. Although I have watched and loved many shows and movies over the years, the only fandoms that have inspired me to write are "Legend of the Seeker", and more recently, "Game of Thrones". Like many fanfiction writers, I love to imagine "What ifs" and Seeker brought up so many of them. It's so disappointing that the series was cancelled since it appeared as if a third season was set to go in many interesting directions. Other media I love: Star Trek, Star Wars, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, HBO's Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire, Battlestar Galactica, Dexter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Friday Night Lights and Downton Abbey. I'm also a big fan of the original Twilight Zone. As for movies: 1930's screwball comedies, 1940's noir (also anything with Bette Davis, Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn), and I could hold my own in any trivia contest about the GodfatherTrilogy (Yes - I even loved the third one!). Books: A Song of Ice and Fire by Gearge R.R. Martin, and really, too many others to list. History, historical fiction, biographies, legal and cop thrillers. Oddly, I'm not that into fantasy/sci-fi when it comes to reading with the exception of Martin. In my Seeker fanfiction I am more interested in less popular characters and pairings. I find Darken Rahl, as portrayed in the television show, to be a fascinating and conflicted character: Intelligent, cruel, selfish, damaged, yet craving some kind of connection, family and love. The relationships he forms, or tries to form are not healthy, but I love exploring AU's where he at least tries. I am also interested in exploring the sibling relationship between Darken and Richard, and the troubled relationship between Darken and Zedd - the wizard who once promised to teach him, and then went on to become Darken's greatest enemy. Also, as twisted as it may be, I find Darken's chemistry with Kahlan, during the brief minutes we see them together in the show, to be much more sizzling, even when it's with hate, and interesting, than any moments she has with Richard - but then that's just me. I'm also loving HBO's "Game of Thrones" and its various characters. I love stories with moral ambiguity and conflicted characters, and GoT is full of them. My completed chaptered fic: "Sharper than a Serpent's Tooth" placed in several categories in the 2011 LoTSeeker Awards: It won best Dark!fic and received 2nd place AU in the rare pair category. It also placed 2nd place over-all in the best portrayal of Kahlan. It was written because I had always wanted to see Darken and Kahlan's marriage in Reckoning explored from the POV of their child who, despite her love for them both, would have to find a way to break free of being their pawn. The Livinng Present universe fics: Another series of Seeker short stories that are written in Reckoning AU, but which are much different in tone and perspective from that of "Sharper than a Serpent's Tooth", focusing on the relationship between Darken and Kahlan. These stories are inter-connected and written from various points of view, and can be read as stand-alones or together, although I suggest that if read together, they be read in chronological order - "Wizard's Fire", "Brand New Life", "Monster" and "The Living Present". I am working on the fifth one now. Several of my fics placed in the 2012 LotSeeker Awards at the end of February: "Monster", "The Living Present", "Children of the Night" and "Reversal of Fortune" all placed in the Darken/Kahlan category. "Sins of the Fathers" placed in the rare pair category. And for best portrayals - "Sins of the Fathers" and "Like Water in the Desert" both placed for best portrayal of Zedd, "The Living Present" placed for best portrayal of Kahlan, and "Monster" tied for first place in best portrayal of Darken Rahl. "You can't always get what You want" and "Lost in the Valley of Whedon" are on indefinite hiatus. Since I often make revisions and corrections after I post, the best-edited versions of all my fanfic, as well as my fanart can be found at my live journal: Standard Disclaimer: I own nothing connected with the Sword of Truth series written by Terry Goodkind, or connected with "Legend of the Seeker" - the television series - ABC/Disney. I obtain no profit from any of stories written and posted in this archive. Nor do I own anything connected with HBO's "Game of Thrones" or George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire book series, and make no profit from anything I write pertaining to that fandom. |
