![]() Author has written 9 stories for Harry Potter, and Women of the Otherworld. If you see "Always In Your Shadow" or any other of my stories published under ANY NAME BESIDES "ARINUS" OR FOR SALE AT ANY PRICE PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I have had problems lately with the story being stolen and reposted, either under another name or for sale, with the profits going to scammers. I have never and will never charge money for my fanfiction stories, and I never post my fanfiction under any pen name besides this one. Picture at left (c) "Arinus" (mysticalhippie @ deviantart.com). Special Note: I started writing Calista Snape's story, about recovering from childhood trauma, as a therapeutic escape mechanism for myself. Since then, I have received messages and reviews from people who have found her story to be helpful, or meaningful, or an escape for them, and I can't even tell you how much that means to me. When I was younger, like so much of the Harry Potter fandom, I used the world of Hogwarts and Harry & Co as an escape, and that's why the books still resonate so strongly with me to this day. If my fics, and Calista's story, can provide the same comfort and companionship to even one person in that same way, that's the most wonderful reward I can imagine, and it makes me really proud to stick with the story and keep writing it. Current Projects: Calista Snape Trilogy After EIGHT YEARS, admittedly with some breaks, I am finally able to mark "The Blood of Your Veins" complete. Calista's story arc continues in a third and final installment, covering the books from Goblet of Fire through Deathly Hallows. This story can be found on my page and is titled "Thestral's Calling: Calista Snape Volume III". I've been working on Calista's story for the better part of my adult life. I started it when I was 21, and I'm in my 30s now. Obviously, over the years my writing has improved and evolved, so earlier chapters from the middle story in particular are in my opinion not quite up to par with the way I write now. I did completely re-write the first story, "Always in Your Shadow", in 2014 and I feel that it reflects the current quality of my work. I hope to someday do this with the first 1-2 years of "the Blood of Your Veins" also, but writing the third installment is currently my priority. For now, Innocent Blood can be considered on indefinite hiatus, while I'm working on my main trilogy. I am also working on an original novel, not related to Harry Potter, but Calista's story is too dear to me to give up writing it, even for something I may actually make money on some day :) So I am working on both. *NEW TWITTER PAGE* I have started a Twitter page where I will post A/Ns, updates on when next chapter is coming, and answers to questions asked in reviews... come check it out and just say 'hi' if you're reading my stories! http://twitter.com/(at)Arinus_FF My Fics: Fandoms: Harry Potter is my primary fandom. I do have others, but this seems to be the only one I delve into fanfiction for :) Characters: My favorite characters (and thus the ones I am most likely to write about) are, in particular order, Severus Snape, and then, in no particular order, Sirius Black, Regulus Black, Remus Lupin, Bellatrix Lestrange, Narcissa Malfoy, Nymphadora Tonks, Andromeda Tonks, Luna Lovegood, Albus Severus Potter, Minerva McGonagall, and Percy Weasley. Original Characters: I love to create realistic, well-rounded OCs in Potterverse, because it gives me the chance to view the events of the story through an original perspective, and for this reason I will probably never write a lengthy fic without at least one OC. Trigger Warnings: I am now including them at the top of the first chapter of each story, but generally speaking, I do like to write about the recovery process from traumatic events, and my stories also contain moderate violence (particularly in flashbacks), strong language (used sparingly), and may also contain sexual content (mild to moderate, between consenting adults only). My OC Calista Snape suffers from PTSD, and it is a major plot point of her story arc, though it is not named until quite far into the story, as she needs someone with knowledge of Muggle psychiatry to tell her what it's called. About Me: I am horrible at writing self-bios, but here goes. My real name is Christina, and somehow, I'm in my thirties now. When did that happen? I'm friendly and outgoing and I've been called "bubbly" more than once, but definitely not by anyone who's ever seen me before I've had my coffee. I like to laugh (who doesn't, right?) and my sense of humor ranges from extremely tame and dorky (think math puns) to biting sarcasm (mostly, before I've had my coffee). I'm pretty hard to label, I guess, because I love shopping and shoes and pink handbags, but I also love science, technology, and learning for the sake of learning. I wear makeup every day and buy earrings compulsively, but my senior quote in my high school yearbook was written in binary. ("You don't get it", if you were wondering). If there is one object in the world I covet more than anything else, it's that remote control that's a Harry Potter wand. Someone buy me that, please. I'm basically the nerdiest girly-girl you'll ever meet. All my friends tell me I'm hilarious, so either I actually am, or I hang out with a bunch of weirdos with the same sense of humor I have - works for me, either way. I love to travel, and have been to 23 countries and counting (some of them multiple times). So, yeah, that's me. I find jokes about the Periodic Table hilarious, and I also know every Ke$ha song by heart. I have an absurd amount of shoes, but I also have a variety of Harry Potter apparel that I am not ashamed to wear. My favorite song in the whole world is "The Safety Dance" but it HAS to be the original version, the one with the maypole in the video, not the one they parody in Family Guy. I imagine that most of you were not aware there ARE two versions of that song, but oh, there are. I have two favorite jokes, and I tell them to everyone, so here you go: Did you hear about the dyslexic, agnostic insomniac? No? He lay awake all night wondering if there really was a dog. Descartes walks into a bar. The bartender says, "Hey, will you have a drink?" Descartes replies, "Hm, I think not." and POOF! He vanishes. |
