Author has written 1 story for Moulin Rouge. Updates (10-5-08): I have recieved several messages from my readers over the past few months, and I feel I owe you guys an explanation to my prolonged absence. I'm currently going through a family crisis, one that involves almost every member of my family and, as of yet, appears to have no end. I've also started college, and the distance is not helping the situation I now find myself in. My flare and passion for writing has diminished quite a bit, as I can't seem to concentrate long enough to make the words flow the way I use to, and although I'm not planning on abandoning my stories, the truth of the matter is that I might not get back to them for some time. I know it's already been a long time, but I kept thinking that things were going to smooth out and that I would be able to take up my stories again. I'm sorry, since that isn't the case, and since my stories are therefore going into hiatus for an undefined amount of time. I hope that if I ever get back to my writing in the next year or so, my readers will forgive me, and will still be able to enjoy my work. Until such time I can only offer my apologies, and wish all of you luck in finding and writing stories that create the kind of excitement I seem to be missing right now. Best wishes. - Kayla Updates (6-5-07): My biggest update is that I've changed my penname. I am now Stratagem Blue, a name that I thought of on the spur of the moment, and which captivated me entirely. phantomthought just lost its appeal after a time. I've also wrttien a few oneshots, and started a Moulin Rouge fic that I'm having a lot of fun with. I may or may not start another chapter fic for Phantom of the Opera after I'm done with my first love, The Last Grand Aria. I have a few more oneshots on the way, and I've also deleted two stories, (Exodus and The Spaces In Between) which lost merit in in my interest. That's pretty much it for now, so I hope you like what I've written so far, and that you will like what I write in the future. Adieu. Hello everyone! Tis Kayla here, warm and friendly, ready to read and write as much as humanly possible. To anyone who cares, (and probably quite a few who don't), I just wanted to tell a little about myself and my dedication to the art of literature. I'm 17 years old, currently working on two novels, historical fiction and just a modern fiction tale, and a book of poetry. I am a violinist, and I have traveled to many interesting places with my chamber orchestra, (Niagara Falls, St.Louis, possibly Atlanta in a few short months), and have a deep passion for the world of the stage. I read my first Dean Koontz novel in second grade, The Lord of the Rings in fifth grade, and I started reading Shakespeare in sixth; I don't say this to make myself out to be brainy or anything, only to reveal that with such completely different genres I have adapted a love for any kind of literature, and try to incorporate a mixture of realism and fantasy in my own work. My favorite author is Stephen King, not because of the horror of his books or his colorful use of language, but because he captures the true nature of human reaction with just the right amount of feeling and fact. I also like Dean Koontz, as stated earlier, as well as Charles Dickens, William Shakespeare, Mark Twain, and David Almond, (although he has only written three books as far as I know). I tend to lean toward the older writings of classic authors because of their sincerity and enlightenment of the time in which they were written. My Stories: The Last Grand Aria: My most prominent work in progress, (though not the only one, I have more, they're just not posted yet). I'm completely enamored with it, mixing my love for writing and my favorite movie into one subject. I plan to follow it to the end, if only for my own sake, for Erik and Christine are as dear to me as any fictional character I will ever write about, and I need to do them justice. A Ballad for the Devil: A Moulin Rouge fic that I have become quite fond of. I wanted to take the reality of the story and bend it, pursuing a science fiction twist that just seemed to fit so nicely. The characters are more vivid than any I've written so far, and I'm enjoying the fact that the story itself is playing out, making me just a narrator through which it is told. Speak: A Phantom of the Opera oneshot that I wrote in one day. The idea took me over and I had to get it down into words. I'm very pleased with what came out and, once again, I incorporated my dearest Erik and his beloved into it. Wicked Serendipity: Another Phantom of the Opera oneshot. It's Leroux based, a slightly different angle to the scene in which Erik lets Christine go; it was a very poignant experience for me in writing it, and I cherish it greatly. The Reaper: A poem about - wait for it - Phantom of the Opera! Just a stream of thoughts depicting Erik's nature and his dark world, and of his relationship with Christine. It rhymed, which was why I had a blast thinking it up. The World That Men Built: Yet another Phantom of the Opera oneshot, though I strayed from my normal romantic boundaries in this one. The story depicts a private meeting between Erik and Charles Garnier, in which they discuss the construction of a new opera house and the secrets that will be hidden within it. My one true love is writing, and to be able to submit my work among other aspiring authors is quite remarkable. (I'm not sucking up for reviews, I've just read many inspiring fanfics and I like being a part of the gang). If you made it this far through my prattle, I applaude you. I can be very tedious when I talk about words and stories and things I love... A last thought from phantomthought: All that is gold does not glitter, not all who wander are lost.-J.R.R. Tolkien A new thought from Stratagem Blue: How far that little candle throws its beams! So shines a good deed in a weary world. -William Shakespeare |
