![]() Author has written 8 stories for Once Upon a Time, Jane Eyre, Misc. Books, Beauty and the Beast, and Twilight. "A Petal on the Rose" is a reference to the enchanted rose from Disney's animated Beauty and the Beast. According to the story, once the last petal fell off the rose, the curse which transformed the prince into a beast would remain permanent. I chose this pen name because I hold to the idea that as long as someone believes any curse can be broken, then the last petal will never fall. No curse is ever permanent but the ones we force upon ourselves. Beauty and the Beast type stories are my absolute favorite. I love the Disney version, the 1980's-1990's television series Beauty and the Beast (starring Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton), and I'm also a fan of the Belle/Rumplestiltskin storyline on ABC's Once Upon A Time. I love Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables (both the book by Victor Hugo and the musical/movie version). Ultimately, I love these stories because I believe in the transformative power of love and redemption in our lives. My own life was transformed by Jesus Christ when I was 14 years old. I was a beast under a curse of sin. Jesus loved me beyond all measure even when I was bad, full of anger, foul words, darkness, and corruption. I accepted His love, and I was transformed. Since that time I have witnessed the beauty of love and the power True Love has to change a life. So, yes, I believe in True Love. And I believe it can break any curse.
