![]() Author has written 3 stories for One Piece. Name: Joker Age: ?? Gender: Male Name's Joker (real name...). I started writing in order to put some ideas that were rampant in my head on paper so to speak. I tend to like morally ambiguous characters with the occasional endearing sadist thrown in for kicks. While all sorts in between and beyond are thrown in for variety's sake, very few are choir boys (save for any literal choir boys). I also try to avoid common clichés and cookie cutter types, striving to make each character unique in his/ her own way. Still, though, despite what I may say, I'm not perfect. As such, I may not clearly relay certain aspects of a character I think help to define and differentiate them. Feel free to PM me questions or to note if any character seems inconsistent. I'm also open to suggestions in regards to the technical aspects of my stories as well as plot and characters, though it is still at my discretion what alterations (if any) to make. I'm currently working on two stories: Crimson Pirates and A Long Way From Home. They are OC driven stories set in the same universe, decades after the original series has ended. For simplicity's sake, the organizational set up is the same (though without the Revolutionaries) only far more volatile in light of events surrounding the Second Pirate King. I started writing a third story with a crew I think could be fun, but I'm not even going to try to balance three stories. So, they've been relegated to (planned) recurring side characters for A Long Way From Home. Strangely enough, they would have been the only crew of mine going for the title King of the Pirates. About Me: I like good action in any medium. But, drama is important to build up anticipation for that climax as well, in my opinion. I have a very random, scattered mind unless I really focus. This often results in me being almost as surprised as others by what I may say. On a related note, I often plan for my stories to go one way, and end up taking a completely different path just because that's how it worked out. Sometimes these changes are small (Shaad meeting Raine the way he did or how Leon got his sword), and other times more profound (almost the entirety of the White Knights joining Bo's crew (before it even has a name)). Basically, I come up with many of the arc specifics while writing the arc in question. I started Crimson Pirates to improve some aspects of my writing before trying my hand at a fictional work of my own, and my personal little One Piece universe expansion just blew up from there. Though, I always try to finish what I start, so this site is stuck with me for the foreseeable future. Plus, I'm still trying to fine tune the balance with which I describe scenes. Got a bit off topic there so I'll end by mentioning that my main pet peeve is grammar. I can stand a few mistakes, but I will stop reading something even if I'm in love with everything else about the story. That goes for published works as well; some books really should've found a better editor. Crimson Pirates - Bo and friends have their whole lives turned upside down when the Marines destroy their home in a manhunt for a retired pirate. Reluctantly driven to piracy, Bo, supported by a pair of childhood friends, must use every bit of his wits, skill, and abilities to stay two steps ahead of the growing list of powerful enemies and threats on their tail. With enemies outnumbering allies, and Bo distrusting of new faces, things constantly look bleak, but Bo seems willing to risk anything in order to exact his revenge including his own safety and that of his crew. (Completed) Crimson Pirates: Dawn of a New Age - Sequel to Crimson Pirates. When trust is at a premium, what happens when one man only trust himself and a select few. Both internal and external conflicts threaten to destroy Bo's crew before it's even made an official pirate crew, but he won't let either bring him down easily. Even as Bo works double-time to grow stronger, though, his constant planning and plotting threatens to bring about the very downfall it's meant to prevent. Not to mention the lurking threats that may have followed their resident hitchhiker, Shaad. A Long Way From Home - Born into a world of secrets and betrayal, a young man is left on an uninhabited island by his father shortly after his 14th birthday with the sole mission of growing strong enough to get back home. Now, he's on the hunt for adequate 'tools' to help in that endeavor, but he'll soon find, the world outside his own has much to teach him as 'tools' become friends, friends become enemies, and his own father continues to pull strings from the background. As A Long Way From Home is set in the same universe as, but a couple of years prior to the events of, Crimson Pirates, characters may carry over through both stories and events will relay from one story to the other. Nonetheless, the stories remain separate and being familiar with both will simply provide a greater insight into character growth and other such nuances aside from overarching, secondary plots being set up in 'A Long Way From Home' and played out in 'Crimson Pirates'. |
