Hi there!

I'm glad you found your way to my page. My (pen)name's Kitty Harriet, and I'm pretty new here. Not new to fiction - that, I've been reading since I was four years old and first picked up a children's copy of Beauty & the Beast - but new to fanfiction.net, fictionpress...all these wonderful corners of the internet where beautiful writing is waiting to be discovered.

I'm a university student in London studying sciences - which is about as far away from fiction writing as you can imagine (possibly with the exception of maths). My passion, however, has always lain in stories. Preferably with a good helping of magic and/or romance.

I'll refrain from telling you all my life in books, but here are a few of my favourites:

The Infernal Devices series - Cassandra Clare (also The Mortal Instrumentsseries)
A Song of Ice and Fire series - George R. R. Martin
The Magician's Apprentice - Trudi Canavan (also most of her series' set in Kyralia)
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins

Let's see... pet hates are spelling and grammar mistakes in books. (I recently read a book that insisted one should "pore" over books, instead of "pour". It took a lot of willpower to finish the story.) With that in mind, I hope you'll forgive me when I say I am one of the most meticulous editors and beta-readers you'll come across. I'd be happy to read provide a second pair of scrupulous eyes to any stories. Having said that, I am painfully British, and so will probably correct all Americanisations to Britishisms unless you specifically ask me not to :)

I hope you drop me a line sometime, even if it's to criticise or praise my choice in reading, recommend something similar or completely different, or just say hi. I look forward to getting some of my own work online in the future - although between studying, that might be mere fantasy!
