![]() I obviously don't have any stories of my own, but I'm an avid reader and reviewer of numerous fanfics. Fandoms I review for: ~ Harry Potter ~ Twilight ~ Avatar: The Last Airbender ~ Other random fandoms) Here are some things you can expect when I review one of your stories. - On average, I try to review two fics every time I log on, which is about every other day or so. - I review every story I read. That's right, every story. - What I'm trying to do is improve the site and make it a happy place to hang out and read at for everyone. I'm telling you people, I'm just trying to help! :-) - I will be as polite as possible. I will not insult you or tell you it's terrible (although the detail in the review itself may imply that it is terrible, if it is). I do not flame (unless it's original fiction or violates the guidelines ... see below). I critique. I'm not trying to hurt your feelings. At all. - I absolutely do not tolerate original fiction or... basically anything that is not classified as fan fiction. Please visit FictionPress. com to submit your non-fan fiction literary works. I will flame and report for this. - On a side note, I will report any stories that violate the site's Guidelines (obscene titles/summaries, lists, chat/script format, improperly rated stories, etc.) You agreed to these anyway when you signed up so I (and everyone else with half of a brain) expect you to comply. - The only time I ever flame anyone - Please feel free to respond to my review. Nice/funny responses make me happy! :D But mean ones don't. I always thank you if you're nice, but if you type me a message like a potty-mouthed second grader and issue death threats or generally act like a moron, it'll be ignored. Oh yeah, and I'll laugh. There's no such thing as a perfect fanfic, but if you follow these tips, you might get close. 1) Please, for the love of God, use good spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization! Every person on here should be able to write with proper grammar and English. If you don't, learn how to do it... or better yet, post nothing at all! 2) Characters should be portrayed well 3) Stop writing to please your readers. You should write what makes you happy, not what you think would make your readers happy. 4) You should never, ever, ever, ever, ever give wrong ratings. Rating a story K that should be rated M is unacceptable, and I will report for this. 5) Have a plot, or at least a basic conflict and resolution. If your story doesn't have a conflict (mental, physical, emotional...) it is absolute crap. 6) It's fan fiction. Okay? It isn't original fiction. 7) Above all, do the best you possibly can. Be creative, be smart, and be yourself. Never copy off someone else's story-- always write your own. You can do it! Accidentally made an error in something you wrote? This might help you. First, you go to the document of your story you have that is saved on WordPad/OpenOffice (or whatever program you use). Next, you correct the mistakes and re-upload it to the site. Then, go to Login -- Publish -- My Stories -- The Story You Want to Change -- Content/Chapters. At the bottom, you'll see a box entitled "Replace/Update Chapter with new Content". On the right sight, there is"Replace Content With Chapter..." and then a drop-down menu. Finally, select the chapter in this menu. On the other side, select the document you just uploaded. Then hit "Replace Chapter". |
