 Hi my name's Shelly and I'm from sunny England. I'm a 30ish Nurse from London. My favourite Genre's are :Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Action, I'm also partial to the odd Comedy here and there. But I do not, except under extreme duress do chick flicks. When it comes to Fanfics I can rarely resist a Parody. My favourite TV Shows: True Blood- Who can resist a Northman Witchblade- Yes I know the shows been over for years, but there's something about women with swords that I find very empowering. Buffy the Vampire Slayer- Not just swords all types of weapons. Angel- Few women with kickass moves, but grittier than Buffy. Highlander- Another show that's been over for years, Methos is my favourite Immortal. The Vampire Diaries- Did I mention I've kinda got a thing for vampire fiction (apart from our mutual abhorrence of strong sunlight, I really can't think why?). MadMen- Yes it's the odd one on the list, I do enjoy the power plays between characters (one look at John Hamm and my ovaries begin to sing!). My Favourite Films: X-Men- all of them (Origins was a little dodgy in parts), Wolverine's my favourite though. Blade Trilogy- I did mention I've got a thing about swords right? The Long Kiss Goodnight- Demure primary school teacher by day. Top CIA counter assasination agent by night. Aliens- Picture the scene: Ripley standing on the deck of the drilling station, while it explodes around her. The Alien Queen having ripped herself from her eggsack is close behind. Ripley stands there holding a quvering child in one arm and a massive gun in the other ( the only woman I know whose as hard as Ripley is my Mum). KickAss- so good I saw it twice! Oh Brother Where Art Thou- There niaevity saves them. Tropic of Thunder- Funny (very very funny) but deep. Stranger Than Fiction- A sweet warm and funny film (I rarely do sweet?) Most Martial Arts Movies- I just love watching the moves Anything with swords, sandals and armour. |
