I collected figures, toys and plaster sets, absorbed every dinosaur book I could find, learned them all by name, and visited all the new museum exhibits. My favorite movie of all time is still Jurassic Park (which I can quote endlessly.) By the time I hit my mid-teens, I'd convinced myself that I wanted to be a paleontologist. My ever-supportive father helped me volunteer for digs with the museum and showed me what uni courses I could do. I even did work experience behind the scenes at the museum itself. Then I discovered that paleontology is an expensive hobby that means at least eight years of rock studies at uni, which still won't guarantee you a fleeting position, let alone career, in this underpaid industry. None of it really suited me. It was then that I turned to my second passion: writing. As of April 2007 I have just completed a Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing Production at QUT and am about to be sent to Japan as an English teacher. Along the journey I hope to continue improving my skills in writing and art, as well as my understanding of language. I'm already very passionate about Japan, its language and its culture. I love delving into and creating new worlds with the power of language. Through my fics, I hope you can enjoy it as much as I do. |
