Tris is 20yrs. old & deals with family hardship in her hometown, so she moves to Portland to live with her friend Christina. She hopes to start a new chapter of her life there. Thankfully she falls in love with it there & meets lots of new friends, including one in particular that she is especially fond of (Four!). This story follows the everyday adventures of her life. Every conversation they had about kids ended in his saying 'someday, maybe' and really meaning 'no', and her nodding in agreement in a vague sort of way. But Tobias didn't miss the times Tris looked at Zeke's daughter like she was trying to imagine her with deep blue eyes and dirty blonde hair when she thought no one was looking.

Every year Tobias helps Benjamin make a Christmas present for Tris. But this year, for the first time, Benjamin is helping Tobias make Tris a Christmas gift. And it's a really, really good one, he thinks. *A story of Christmas surprises set in the Patterns & Fairytales universe.*

I wasn't happy with the end of Chapter Fifty of Allegiant. I thought of how I might like it to go and came up with this. It's only short, but I thought it worked. Let me know what you think.

*A little bit of Three Parts Dead from Tobias' POV* Before Tris literally fell into my life this was something I thought I didn't want. But I know now it was because it was something I thought I would never get, never deserve to have. Sometimes the worst wounds aren't the ones that bleed.

She smiles up from the nook on his shoulder that was made for her, fingers dancing across the stubble on his cheeks, and her eyes are so full love and trust and tenderness and this is his life, that whatever else is going on around them doesn't matter.

It was her strength, her liveliness that really made her beautiful. No one else saw that - not yet anyway -, and it made me feel like I was carrying around something precious, a secret knowledge that needed to be guarded jealously. Divergent from Tobias' POV.
